Bloody Romance: I, the big troublemaker, Zhong Yuemin!

Chapter 427 Dad!!

Chapter 427 Dad!!

Yang Qing hurriedly checked each body, her body trembling, fearing she might find her father's corpse. Fortunately, the check revealed nothing.

On the other side, Zhong Yuemin was squatting next to a corpse, carefully using an entrenching tool to remove the tattered clothing attached to the wound, his brows furrowing more and more tightly.

"Strange..." he muttered to himself.

"What's wrong, Yuemin? Did you find something?" Zhang Haiyang asked, leaning closer.

Zhong Yuemin pointed to several obvious wounds, his voice low:

“Look at these wounds, the edges are clean, the angles of entry are tricky, and these gunshot wounds, the entry points are very close... This doesn’t look like it was defending against an external attack, it’s more like... close-range self-destruction, which could cause these kinds of wounds.”

"Fratricide?!"

The crowd gasped softly, then looked at each other, their faces filled with confusion, horror, and lingering fear.

Da Long swallowed hard, his voice a little dry:

"Could it be... that they discovered some incredible treasure in this tomb, got greedy, couldn't divide the loot equally, and ended up fighting amongst themselves?"

"fart!"

Zhang Haiyang retorted with a curse, sweeping the flashlight beam across the empty main burial chamber.

"This godforsaken place is pitch black, filled with nothing but coffins and bones, not a single copper coin in sight. Where would this treasure come from? Damn it, this is really weird. Could these people... have they all been possessed and lost their minds?"

"Captain Zhong, come and take a look!"

Wang Ye's voice came from the darkness ahead, carrying a hint of seriousness that was barely perceptible.

Zhong Yuemin immediately got up and strode over, with the others following closely behind. Looking up in the direction indicated by Wang Ye's flashlight beam, the sight before them took their breath away.

Beneath the dome of the main burial chamber, a massive coffin hung prominently.

It was not placed on a coffin bed, but was tightly bound and suspended in mid-air by several thick black iron chains, each as thick as a child's arm.

The other end of the iron chain was deeply embedded in the surrounding rock walls, firmly fixing the coffin in this eerie position, which exuded a sinister and oppressive atmosphere under the flickering torchlight.

"What kind of burial method is this?"

Zhong Yuemin looked up, alarm bells ringing in his mind.

"It's an age-old rule that coffins should never be off the ground. What's the point of hanging them in the air?"

Wang Ye pushed up his glasses, his gaze behind the lenses filled with scrutiny and doubt:

"Hanging coffin burials do exist in some ethnic minority areas in the south, but they are mostly placed by carving holes in natural cliffs or erecting wooden stakes. As for those that are tied with iron chains and suspended in a closed tomb chamber, I have never seen any record of them in any historical materials or archives."

Zhang Haiyang felt a chill run down his spine and couldn't help but interject:

"I mean... could it really be some kind of ancient demon lying in here, sealed here by some enlightened master using this iron chain formation to prevent it from harming people?"

As if in response to his unintentional remark,

"Crashing... crashing..."

A clear and abrupt metallic scraping sound suddenly rang out. The several iron chains binding the hanging coffin began to vibrate violently without warning. The chains collided with each other, emitting a piercing yet rhythmic sound that amplified infinitely in the deathly silent tomb, instantly sending chills down one's spine and making one's hair stand on end.

Zhong Yuemin and Ning Wei immediately grabbed their AK-47s slung over their shoulders and aimed them at the coffin above. Haiyang, Dalong, and other team members gripped their shovels tightly, while the other expedition members hid behind them, as if facing a formidable enemy, waiting for some ancient monster to leap out of the coffin.

Several seconds passed in the deathly silence. The anticipated horror did not occur. The vibrations of the chains gradually subsided, and the tomb returned to an unsettling stillness.

Just as everyone was about to breathe a sigh of relief, they saw fine dust begin to fall from the air, like gray snowflakes, continuously peeling off the coffin and the iron chains themselves.

Dust settled silently on their shoulders, hat brims, and arms.

Little Fatty instinctively opened his palm, caught some of it, and looked closely by the firelight. His voice even changed tone:

"This...this thing has fuzz, and it's...it's emerald green!" The dust in his palm did indeed have a strange texture, like severely moldy tofu, and it also carried an indescribable stale, fishy smell.

"What the hell is this thing?" Zhang Haiyang asked in a low voice, his Adam's apple bobbing.

His question was quickly interrupted by a shrill scream!

A member of the expedition team standing slightly ahead suddenly stiffened, his eyes instantly losing focus, becoming empty and frantic, letting out a howl that was not human, and swung the entrenching tool in his hand to smash it hard at his companion next to him!

"Old Li, are you crazy?!" The people next to him jumped back in shock.

Almost simultaneously, a similar roar came from the other side, and a second team member exhibited the same symptoms, lunging at those around him like a wild beast.

"Get out of the coffin quickly and hold your breath!"

Zhong Yuemin instantly realized something and shouted angrily.

"This dust is poisonous and can confuse the mind. Get out of the way!"

Upon hearing this, everyone scrambled to the edge of the tomb chamber, covering their mouths and noses tightly with their sleeves and hands.

On the field, the two players who had inhaled a large amount of dust had completely lost their minds and were hacking at each other like madmen. The entrenching tools clashed, producing a piercing metallic clang and sending sparks flying.

Zhong Yuemin's eyes sharpened, and he charged into the fray without hesitation. Dodging the wildly swung entrenching tools, he seized the opportunity and used the sturdy butt of his AK-47 to precisely strike the back of the necks of the two men. With two muffled groans, the two crazed team members collapsed to the ground.

He and Ning Wei quickly dragged the two back to the edge of the safe zone. The two men's faces were a horrifying pale green. Even though they were unconscious, their bodies were still convulsing violently and uncontrollably, with white foam coming out of their mouths. Their condition was very bad.

"Damn it, what is this thing? It's incredibly poisonous; it can knock someone out of their mind in just a few seconds?"

Ocean exclaimed in terror:

"Yuemin, what do we do now? This is a confined space, and the dust is still floating in the air. Should we retreat first? We'll be doomed if we get sucked in."

Zhong Yuemin nodded, "Go around from the side, don't walk in the middle, and hold your breath!"

The group retreated from the edge of the rock wall back into the tunnel. However, they hadn't gone far when they heard faint footsteps coming from the dark tunnel ahead. Their hearts tightened, wondering what kind of monster it was. They wondered if the humanoid mantises had caught up with them.

Zhong Yuemin told everyone to be quiet and move aside. He then crept over with his entrenching tool, and when the dark figure was right next to him, he slapped it on the forehead. The figure fell to the ground, and Haiyang ran over with a torch.

One photo,

An old man, who was not a mantis at all, was puzzled.

"Why is it an old man? Where did he come from?"

Just then, Yang Qing called out from behind, her voice a mix of worry and delight.

"dad!!!"
