Chapter 501 Mirror Image in the Fog of Consciousness (2)

Chapter 501 Mirror Image in the Fog of Consciousness (2)

"Is this your fear?" The fused entity's voice echoed in the Guardian's consciousness, carrying an unshakeable firmness. Her consciousness, like a gentle stream, quietly seeped into the depths of the Guardian's heart, exploring the corner shrouded in fear.

The Guardian's consciousness trembled under the weight of fear, his heart seemingly swallowed by an endless darkness. However, the voice of the merged entity was like a warm ray of light, piercing through the darkness and illuminating the shadows in the Guardian's heart.

“I’m afraid my choices will bring more destruction, afraid that what I call protection is actually another form of destruction.” The voice of the fused entity continued to echo in the Guardian’s consciousness, as if she could see through every fear and doubt in the Guardian’s heart.

The guardian's consciousness gradually calmed down in the warm light, and he began to listen to the words of the merged entity.

"But you must remember that every choice we make is based on the best possible outcome at the time." The fusion's voice was gentle yet firm. "We have never intentionally harmed any universe. Everything we do is to protect and maintain the balance of the universe."

The guardian's consciousness gradually unfolded in this warm light. He began to understand that fear could not change the facts, and only by facing them bravely could he find a way to solve the problem.

The guardian's eyes, which had been hazy and confused, gradually became clear and bright as time passed. At the same time, the four restless forces within him seemed to be soothed and returned to stability.

In an instant, the four-colored longswords burst forth with dazzling light, like torches being lit. The cosmic network of star charts on the blades seemed to come alive, constantly expanding outwards, like a boundless cosmic scroll.

The dazzling light spread rapidly, completely engulfing the image projected by the gray-robed guardian. Before the light of the four-colored longsword, those images were as fragile as paper, instantly torn apart and swallowed up.

The Guardian's voice was firm and powerful: "You're right, I have indeed sacrificed some universes. But I have never given up on any universe that still has hope!" His words echoed in the void like a resounding bell.

Without hesitation, he swung his four-colored longsword with unstoppable momentum, slashing fiercely at the gray-robed guardian.

The figure of the gray-robed guardian gradually blurred in the light of the four-colored longswords, eventually disappearing without a trace. However, in the instant he vanished, the despair on his face was replaced by a sense of relief and understanding.

"I hope you can keep going..." His voice drifted slowly through the air, as if it were a final farewell.

As the figure of the gray-robed guardian completely dissipated, he transformed into a wisp of gray mist, which, like a wisp of smoke, slowly merged into the guardian's body.

The Guardian stood silently, feeling the gray mist merge with him. A complex mix of emotions welled up within him, a mixture of guilt for the sacrificed universes and unwavering faith in the future.

“I will never forget…” he murmured, “The destruction of those universes was so that more universes could exist. This is my responsibility and my mission.”

As the gray-robed guardians completely vanished, the surrounding white mist suddenly dissipated. They found themselves standing on a massive black bridge, made of the same material as the Void Lord's black longsword. The other end of the bridge connected to a realm flowing with seven-colored light, the very location of the primordial power reflected in the memory crystal.

On both sides of the bridge stood countless figures. These figures included various forms of guardians and fusion beings, as well as enemies they had once faced, such as black-robed figures, black guardians, and figures in gray robes. These figures stood there silently, their eyes devoid of the previous hostility, filled only with calm and understanding, as if seeing them off.

"These are the fears and obsessions we have overcome..." The fused being's voice was filled with endless emotion. Her gaze pierced through the bridge and landed in the center of that seven-colored realm. There, the energy entity pulsed in a slow, rhythmic manner, as if it were a living being. The light it emitted was warm and powerful, drawing people closer.

The Guardian stood quietly to the side, his heart also filled with emotion. He could feel that the four powers within him were more harmonious than before, like carefully tuned musical instruments, their resonance more perfect. And on the Observer's badge on his chest, the previously active black spots, while not completely gone, no longer pulsed as wildly as before, but had formed a delicate balance with the four lights, as if temporarily suppressed.

This change both pleased and surprised the Guardian. He knew it meant they had made significant progress in their battle against fear and obsession, but he also understood that the fight was far from over. The black spots remained, and they might resurface at some point, presenting them with new challenges.

However, the guardian was not troubled by these worries at this moment. He believed that as long as they continued to persevere and constantly overcome their inner fears and obsessions, they would eventually be able to completely break free from the shackles of these shadows.

The two walked along the black bridge towards the seven-colored realm. As they passed, the figures on both sides of the bridge turned into specks of light and merged into their bodies. With each speck of light they absorbed, their power increased and their understanding of the laws of the universe deepened.

Just as they were about to step into the seven-colored realm, the bridge suddenly shook violently. They looked back and saw the Weaver's energy net rapidly approaching, gray threads surging towards the black bridge like a tide. At the tips of the threads, miniature figures held short blades made of the same material as gray longswords, their eyes filled with determination.

“They still caught up.” The Guardian gripped the four-colored longsword, and the four-colored wings on his back fully unfurled. “It seems we must settle this here.”

The merged entity shook its head, pointing to the energy body in the center of the seven-colored domain: "No, our goal is the power of origin." She tossed the memory crystal in her hand towards the energy body, and the crystal transformed into a beam of seven-colored light in the air, connecting with the energy body. "As long as we obtain the power of origin, we can completely eradicate the seeds left behind by the Web Weaver."

Connected by the beam of light, the energy entity shone brightly, radiating a powerful attraction. The bodies of the Guardian and the Fusion began to fly involuntarily toward the energy entity. Although the Web Weaver's energy net was rapidly approaching, it was blocked by the energy entity's light at the middle of the black bridge, unable to get closer.

Just as their figures were about to merge into the energy body, the Guardian suddenly felt a sharp pain from the Observer's Badge on his chest. He looked down and saw that the black spot in the center of the rune suddenly burst into a blinding light, and the face of the Void Lord appeared in the light, with a strange smile on his face.

"You think this is the end?" The voice of the Lord of Nothingness echoed in the Guardian's consciousness, tinged with smugness. "The mist of consciousness is not only a test, but also my trap." The black spot suddenly cracked open, and a thin black thread emerged from it, the other end of the thread connected to the Weaver's energy network. "When you merge with the power of the source, that will be the moment when my power and the Weaver's power connect. At that time, the entire cosmic network will become our battlefield!"

The guardian's expression changed drastically. He tried to break free from the energy body's pull, only to find his body beginning to turn transparent, the fusion with the energy body unstoppable. The fused entity also wore a shocked expression; she had clearly heard the Lord of Nothingness's words, yet she too was unable to halt the fusion process.

The energy net of the weaver, connected by black threads, suddenly burst forth with gray light. The light echoed the light of the black spots, forming a huge energy vortex on the black bridge. The vortex contained both the power of nothingness and the power of the weaver. The two forces collided with each other, yet strangely merged together, emitting a terrifying aura of destruction.

"This is my true purpose." The Lord of Nothingness's voice was filled with maniacal laughter. "Let the Web Weavers and the Primal Force destroy each other, let all universes return to their original chaos, this is the most perfect end!"

The figures of the Guardians and the Fusion Beings had largely merged into the energy body. They could sense the immense power of the Origin Force, as well as the destructive aura brought about by the fusion of the power of Nothingness and the Web Weaver. They knew that once these two forces collided within the Origin Force, not only would the cosmic network be destroyed, but the gray space where the Web Weaver resided and the domain where the Origin Force resided would also collapse, forming a true void.

In the moments before fully merging into the energy body, the Guardian and the merged entity exchanged a glance, both seeing resolve in each other's eyes. They made a decision simultaneously—to deeply merge their consciousness with the power of origin, using the power of origin to forcibly separate the fusion power of nothingness and the Web Weaver, even if it meant they might forever lose themselves and become part of the power of origin.

Their figures vanished completely into the multicolored light. The energy body suddenly became exceptionally bright, colliding violently with the energy vortex on the black bridge. The impact of the two forces caused the entire area to tremble. The black bridge began to crumble inch by inch. The Weaver's energy net and the Void Lord's black threads continuously dissolved in the light, yet were constantly reborn.

At the center of the cosmic network, a giant, colorful planet suddenly burst forth with four-colored light. The new life forms on the planet simultaneously raised their hands, infusing their power of belief into the light. This power transcended time and space, flying towards the realm of the primordial power, as if providing final support for the guardians and the fusion.

The battle has only just begun, and this time, it will determine not only the fate of the cosmic network, but also the future of all existence. No one knows what the final outcome will be; only the constantly colliding lights tell the story of the guardians and the merged entity's final efforts.
