Chapter 218 Summer Camp Graduation Ceremony
Chapter 218 Summer Camp Graduation Ceremony
When I arrived at the summer camp, I saw the children sitting neatly in rows. They were all full of energy and vitality. When they noticed me, their bright eyes immediately sparkled with anticipation, as if saying, "Come on! We've been waiting for you!"
I walked over with a smile, slowly settling into a chair the staff had reserved. Then, the exciting moment finally arrived—the children took the stage one by one, excitedly receiving their "graduation certificates." I have to say, the camp's leadership truly put in so much effort. Not only did they plan a grand and heartwarming closing ceremony to ensure the successful conclusion of this summer camp, but they also provided each child with a beautiful medal and other special commemorative gifts. The entire scene was solemn yet lively, imbued with a strong sense of ceremony, leaving everyone present with a deep sense of the importance and care placed on the children's growth.
The group activity finally concluded successfully! With great joy, I pulled the little gifts I'd carefully prepared from my backpack. These gifts were all my hard work! There were beautiful, custom-made notebooks with covers covered in adorable animal designs; boxes of colorful pencils, as vibrant as a rainbow; and, of course, those small, fun, educational toys.
Then, I called over the older children in Vaughan, carefully handed the small gifts to them, and told them to lead their younger brothers and sisters to pass on this warmth to the other children in the kindergarten.
When the children saw these exquisite gifts, their eyes lit up and their faces were filled with happiness and excitement. They happily stretched out their hands, eagerly accepting the gifts, and kept chattering words of gratitude. The whole scene was very lively.
Bailey was even more impatient, distributing the gifts in a hurry, hoping that all the children would get the gifts they wanted at once. Seeing her serious and anxious look, it was really hilarious!
At this moment, I smiled and said to the children, "Don't be anxious, my dears. Your gifts are still in the rest area. Let's go over and enjoy them together after all the activities here are over, okay?" Hearing this, the children were reluctant to leave, but they nodded obediently, indicating that they were willing to wait patiently.
The graduation ceremony proceeded smoothly and methodically, the atmosphere warm and joyful. Looking at the young faces in the audience, brimming with boundless energy and vigor, I felt an indescribable joy welling up in my heart. These lovely children, like the rising sun, radiated a dazzling light.
At that moment, the light computer on my wrist suddenly vibrated without warning. I clicked on it and saw a message about the hot pot project. It turned out that the raw material supplier, with whom I had always had a good relationship, had suddenly proposed a series of changes at this critical moment. These sudden changes would likely have a significant impact on the entire project's costs and subsequent progress.
I couldn't help but frown, secretly pondering how to handle this difficult situation. Thoughts surged through my mind like a tidal wave, and various solutions flashed through my mind in a short period of time. However, the graduation ceremony had not yet concluded, and many children were eagerly anticipating the next steps. If I distracted myself from work matters at this moment, I would undoubtedly disappoint their enthusiasm and expectations.
With this thought in mind, I took a deep breath, trying to calm my slightly anxious mood. Then, I slowly put down my phone and turned my gaze back to those innocent smiles. Although my mind was still troubled by the issues surrounding the hot pot project, I was determined to fully savor this precious, heartwarming moment. For me, the children's innocent, bright smiles were equally precious, worth cherishing and nurturing.
Finally, the graduation ceremony concluded successfully amidst laughter and joy. After all the children returned to the lounge area to prepare for the evening graduation party, I immediately put away my relaxed and cheerful expression, replacing it with a serious and focused look. Now, it was time to devote all my energy to resolving the crisis facing the hot pot project!
I hurried to a quiet and secluded corner, looked around, and confirmed again and again that there was no one around. Then I carefully stretched out my finger and gently pressed the communication button to contact Edward who was thousands of miles away.
Accompanied by a slight electric sound, the call was quickly connected. I couldn't wait and asked anxiously, "Edward, what's going on with that damn supplier? Why did he suddenly change the contract terms without any warning?" My tone sounded extremely anxious and angry.
Edward's voice, a hint of helplessness, came from the other end of the line: "Ah, Ms. Li, based on the information we have so far, it seems that there are some serious problems with their funding chain. Because of this, they have been forced to come up with this method to try to make up for their losses."
Upon hearing this news, I was instantly enraged. I stamped my feet on the ground, gritting my teeth and saying, "This is absolutely no small matter! You know, all our budget arrangements were carefully planned in strict accordance with the previously signed contract. Now that they are wantonly changing the terms, not only will our already slim profit margins be significantly reduced, but worse, it will likely delay the best opportunity. Our hot pot business is currently booming and popular. If we are forced to stop because of this incident, consumer enthusiasm will inevitably cool. Once people's interest and attention wanes, it will be extremely difficult to rekindle their enthusiasm!"
Edward hesitated for a moment before slowly speaking, "Actually, there's another solution, which is to change suppliers. But time is too tight right now, and the risks of doing so shouldn't be underestimated!"
Hearing this, I couldn't help but fall into a moment of deep thought. After a moment, I responded firmly, "I'm afraid that's not a good idea. After all, it's a temporary change of supplier, and their product quality can't be guaranteed. So, I think we should have a thorough discussion with the existing supplier. How about we arrange a meeting with them tomorrow, and we'll go and negotiate in person."
"Okay, Miss Li. But..." Edward paused and continued, "From what I understand, their attitude is quite tough."
I snorted coldly, crossed my arms, and said with determination, "Hmph! No matter how tough their stance, we won't let them manipulate us like this." With that, I hung up the phone. Then, standing still, gazing into the distance, I silently began to formulate my arguments for tomorrow's negotiations. No matter what, we had to ensure the smooth progress of our hot pot project this time.
