Chapter 34 The Name of Cold Moon
Chapter 34 The Name of Cold Moon
While Shen Xu was sleeping, he suddenly felt the mountains outside vibrate. At first, he thought it was his imagination, but as the noise outside became more and more intense, he had no choice but to put on his clothes and go outside the wooden house.
He learned from the discussions of those around him that it was an earth dragon turning over, but sensing the disorder in the surrounding energy, most people felt that things were not so simple.
Shen Xu couldn't help but frown, as he remembered that such a thing hadn't happened in his previous life.
"What's going on lately? One thing after another is happening, and it's getting stranger and stranger. What did I do to cause this change?"
Just as he was racking his brains trying to figure it out, he suddenly felt a darkness before his eyes. When he opened his eyes again, he found himself in a black space with a full moon hanging in the sky, casting a cold, clear light.
"Where am I? Am I dreaming?" Shen Xu patted his face and found that he could feel the texture very clearly.
"It's not a dream!" Shen Xu instantly became alert.
Suddenly, he saw two blurry figures, one large and one small, appear in the black space.
This made him even more nervous, and as the two figures became clearer, he became even more tense.
Although he didn't know why the person behind the scenes brought him to this place, given the incredible methods used, it seemed that he only had one option: to obey.
"Wind Leopard? No, it's not a Wind Leopard!" When he saw the small figure appear, Shen Xu almost mistook it for a leopard.
However, apart from its slightly different size, the wrong fur color, and the crescent moon mark on its forehead, it does resemble the Wind Leopard of Blood Valley.
"Human, do you still remember me?" A voice, indistinguishable between male and female, reached Shen Xu's ears.
"Who are you?" Shen Xu was a little confused about the current situation.
"Who am I? I don't know who I am. I don't seem to have a name, but other humans call me Wind Leopard, though I don't like that name." Wind Leopard seemed to care a lot about his name.
"Wind Leopard? You really are Wind Leopard! Why are you here? Why am I here? And how did you become like this?" Shen Xu was completely bewildered.
“None of that matters. I’m leaving, and I want to see you one last time before I go. By your human standards, we should be considered friends. You are my first friend, so am I your friend?” Wind Leopard asked expectantly.
Shen Xu said sincerely, "I guess so! Although I was always wary when I was with you, I considered you a true friend after that night."
"As a friend, may I know your name?"
"My name is Shen Xu!"
“Shen Xu, my friend.” Feng Bao repeated the sentence, as if trying to memorize the name deeply.
“Shen Xu, without you, I might have lived my whole life in a daze, confused and aimless. You are the witness to my rebirth and have the right to name me. I want you to name me as a gift for my rebirth.”
"May I? I feel this name should be important to you."
"Shen Xu, I believe in you. Just follow your heart."
"Han Yue!" Shen Xu immediately thought of this name. Feng Bao gave Han Yue to him, and he would return Han Yue to Feng Bao, as if everything was preordained.
Just as Shen Xu uttered those two words, the entire black space suddenly began to tremble violently, as if a stone had been thrown into a calm lake, causing ripples to spread and making it turbulent and shaking.
The full moon that had been hanging high in the sky could no longer maintain its shape and began to shatter and break apart inch by inch.
The fragments, like butterflies fluttering in the air, scattered throughout the space, leaving dazzling trails on the black curtain of darkness.
Shen Xu stared wide-eyed at the strange changes in the sky, a strong sense of unease rising within him.
He had never seen such a bizarre scene before, and couldn't help but wonder if he had given the Wind Leopard the wrong name, which led to the current turn of events.
Just as he was lost in thought, a tiny fragment of the moon suddenly flew towards his forehead like a shooting star, flashing brilliantly.
Shen Xu had no time to dodge. He only felt a chill on his forehead as the moon fragment disappeared instantly, disappearing into his forehead.
As the fragments merged, Shen Xu's vision subtly changed; the surrounding scenery began to distort and become blurry. The figure of the Wind Leopard also grew increasingly indistinct and illusory in this collapsing space, eventually disappearing completely from the area.
Shen Xu felt a wave of dizziness and his body swayed involuntarily. He tried to steady himself, but found that he seemed to have lost control of his body and fell to the ground instantly.
In his hazy consciousness, Shen Xu seemed to hear an extremely faint voice: "Shen Xu is coming to find Han Yue! Han Yue..."
The noisy sounds echoed in his ears again. Shen Xu suddenly opened his eyes and found himself still in the noisy crowd. It seemed that everything just now was just his illusion.
He couldn't help but pat his face, feeling the real touch again, but it felt so unreal. He touched his forehead and there didn't seem to be anything strange about it.
However, he soon realized something was wrong; his cultivation seemed to have broken through again, entering the seventh level of Qi Nourishing.
Feeling the sudden surge of vital energy within his dantian, Shen Xu squeezed his arm hard, the intense pain bringing him back to reality.
"What exactly happened just now?" Shen Xu couldn't help but look up at the full moon in the night sky.
……
"Why did he leave? I haven't asked him why yet."
"The name Hanyue must not be desecrated!"
"Is the name Shen Xu gave me good?"
The silver-haired man looked at Han Yue: "It's not him, it's the name that this world bestowed upon you."
"It's Shen Xu, not anyone else," Han Yue said stubbornly.
"We should go." The silver-haired man did not correct Han Yue's statement.
"I'm going to get my things." A moon shadow flashed by, and Han Yue's figure appeared in the Wind Leopard Forest. The crescent moon mark on its forehead flickered, and a deep vortex emitting a bright white light appeared above its head, sucking the leaf spoon that Shen Xu had broken for it into the vortex.
"When he sees me again, I will return this to him," Han Yue said to the silver-haired man with utmost seriousness.
You still have a lot to learn!
A dazzling silver light illuminated the entire blood-red valley in an instant, then dimmed just as quickly.
In the blood-red valley, the moonlight was bright and cold, like frost.
