Chapter 368 Decision 1
Chapter 368 Decision 1
"Cang, you're taller than me now!" Lang Wang gestured with his hand to show their heights and said with a smile.
Lang Cang patted his shoulder. "Let's spar sometime. My combat power has improved a lot recently."
Upon hearing this, Wolf Wang immediately wore a bitter expression. "Forget it. I've never been able to beat you before, and it's probably even less likely now."
"You're not thinking of finding a chance to beat me up, are you?" Wolf looked at him with some suspicion.
Lang Cang was both amused and exasperated. "Alright, go to sleep."
After exchanging a few pleasantries, the sky was already beginning to lighten, and Lang Cang left the post station.
The night was deep and cold. When Lang Cang got home, he was still a little chilly. He warmed himself up and quietly crawled into bed.
Lin Baiyan seemed to sense the familiar presence in her sleep, so she rolled over and snuggled into Lang Cang's arms, finding herself in a more comfortable position before falling into a deep sleep again.
The next morning, Lin Baiyan opened his eyes and looked up to see the male orc sleeping soundly in front of him.
The orc blinked his round cat-like eyes. Lang Cang was fast asleep, his shallow breaths brushing against his face. Lin Baiyan unconsciously stretched out his finger and slowly slid it from Lang Cang's forehead to his lips.
Lang Cang is really handsome...
The male orc suddenly opened his eyes and pulled him into his arms.
Lin Baiyan was startled and subconsciously reached out to push him.
"What? Am I good-looking?" Lang Cang looked at his little companion in his arms with a half-smile.
Lin Baiyan choked for a moment, "How can you be so narcissistic?"
Lang Cang's face darkened. "You think I'm not good-looking?"
He angrily buried his head in Lin Baiyan's neck, "You can't change it even if it doesn't look good, you can only look at me!"
Lin Baiyan chuckled and ruffled his hair. "Why are you being so childish?"
It seems that after Lang Cang saw the Star Wolf Clan beastmen, he became more and more vivid.
"Bai Yan, I'm really happy..." Lang Cang said in a muffled voice.
The Star Wolf tribe members are still alive and have actually come looking for us. The tribe has not declined and still has a chance to start over.
Lin Baiyan patted him reassuringly, "I know."
"Oh, right, let me tell you!" Lang Cang seemed to remember something and blurted out his conversation with Lang Mo from the previous night.
After listening, Lin Baiyan said thoughtfully, "A heritage unique to the Star Wolf Clan?"
He reached out and touched Lang Cang's chest; it was perfectly smooth, without a single mark. "There aren't any scars here either..."
"Father didn't have time to finish..." Lang Cang's eyes dimmed, and he twitched the corners of his mouth.
Wolf Night only had time to drip a drop of blood into it, and the Holy Crystal only flashed slightly before there was no further reaction.
"How about we try again?" Lang Cang said.
Lin Baiyan frowned, looked up with a serious expression, and said, "You better behave yourself. Do you really think heart blood is so easy to obtain?"
"The heart is the most important part of an orc's body. If you even slightly damage it, do you still want to live a normal life?"
Heart problems are uncontrollable even in modern times with rapidly advancing medical technology, let alone in this orcish continent where life is almost primitive.
"But that inheritance..." Lang Cang really wanted to know what kind of inheritance it contained.
"Even if there really is a legacy, we still can't find the Saint Crystal of the Star Wolf Tribe. The most important thing now is to go south and explore the situation."
Wolf Cang sat up. "Last night I mentioned to Uncle Mo that they were willing to go south with Little Peregrine. Plus, with the address Pig Violent gave us, it should be pretty much a done deal."
He reached out and ruffled the orc's hair. "I want to go with them."
"It's just a reconnaissance mission anyway. I promise to be cautious and come back for reinforcements immediately if anything seems amiss!"
Hearing him say that, Lin Baiyan pursed her lips and said, "I knew you were going to leave."
How could Lang Cang possibly abandon his clansmen who were scattered and living away from home?
Lang Cang thought he had misunderstood, so he quickly explained, "I'm not leaving you. I'm just going to bring the rest of my people back. Now, Beast City is my home."
The male orc looked extremely anxious and spoke very quickly, as if afraid that Lin Baiyan had misunderstood something.
Lin Baiyan looked at the flustered Lang Cang and couldn't help but chuckle, "What are you thinking about?"
"I only know that the male orc I'm interested in is an orc with a strong sense of responsibility. He wouldn't leave his people suffering outside and just sit here waiting for news without a clear conscience."
Hearing him say that, Lang Cang subconsciously breathed a sigh of relief, and the tension in his heart finally eased a little. He stared intently at the sub-beastman in front of him, his gaze deep and unfathomable, as if an invisible force was flowing between their eyes.
"White Flame..." Lang Cang's throat bobbed, but he only managed to call out his name.
Lin Baiyan just smiled, then sat up in bed. "I'll get through this one easily, but you should think about how to explain it to the elders."
He didn't stop them because he knew he couldn't stop them anyway. As for the other elders, he'd leave them to Lang Cang to deal with!
The elders, including Hu Zhen and Hu Kuo, were terrified that Lang Cang would be abducted by the Star Wolf Clan's beastmen. Not to mention Uncle Tu Lin, who had been secretly watching Lang Cang countless times since yesterday, as if guarding against a thief.
Wolf Cang thought of those stubborn old men, then looked at the somewhat cramped sub-beastman in front of him, and smiled helplessly.
"Let's go, get up quickly, we still have things to do today!" Lin Baiyan waved to him with her back turned and ran out in a flash.
Lang Cang looked gently at his little partner's retreating figure and loudly replied, "Okay!"
Once outside the door, Lin Baiyan's smile gradually faded. He glanced back at the room behind him, and when he turned back, his eyes were full of determination.
He couldn't stop Lang Cang from saving his people, but he could do his best to ensure Lang Cang's safety.
To Lin Baiyan's surprise, he didn't know what Lang Cang and the elders had said, but in the end they agreed to Lang Cang's request to go out.
It's already September, and the weather is neither too hot nor too cold, perfect for going out. So Lang Cang decided to set off in five days.
"So early?"
"The sooner I leave, the sooner I'll come back. Don't worry." Lang Cang looked earnestly at the sub-beastman in front of him.
Lin Baiyan pursed his lips. How could he not be worried?
This journey will take him across thousands of miles, and he doesn't know when he will be able to return. Moreover, the orc continent is fraught with danger, not only from enemies but also from the unknown forces of nature.
He had thought he had plenty of time to prepare, but now it seems that's not enough.
After Lang Cang finished speaking, Lin Baiyan remained silent in front of him for a long time before turning and leaving without saying a word.
Lang Cang noticed that Lin Baiyan looked flustered. He had intended to coax him, but Lin Baiyan didn't give him a chance to do so and simply disappeared, going to his office in the central square.
Lin Baiyan didn't leave the central square until the day before Lang Cang was to depart, and went to Lang Cang's training camp.
