Chapter 1: Traveling Through Time
Chapter 1: Traveling Through Time
In the remote mountains, a black shuttle with its headlights on drives towards an abandoned mining lake.
After the car stopped, two men dragged a lifeless girl out of the back seat. The girl was still wearing the uniform of Haiying Private High School.
The two men dragged the girl toward the mining lake as if she were a piece of trash.
"Tsk tsk, the boss is really something, making us come out to throw out the trash in the middle of the night instead of letting us sleep!" the tall, thin man muttered in dissatisfaction.
Another pale-faced man snapped at him, "Stop talking nonsense! If you're so capable, go tell those things to the higher-ups! Hurry up, or we'll get caught!"
“There’s not a soul in sight here, how could we have been discovered?” the tall, thin man retorted.
The area around the mining lake was littered with rubble. The girl was dragged along by her legs, and her body was covered in scratches.
Suddenly, the girl's eyelids twitched.
There was no other light source besides the moonlight; the two men relied solely on the car headlights for illumination. Reaching the lake, the tall, thin man shouted, "Alright, alright, this is fine! Hurry up and tie the stones on top, throw the body in, and we're done!"
They casually picked up stones from the ground, unaware that the girl lying on the ground had opened her eyes, her gaze as sharp as an eagle eyeing its prey.
The girl suddenly sprang up, flashed behind the tall, thin man, and precisely grabbed his neck. A sharp "crack" was heard, and the tall, thin man collapsed to the ground without even letting out a scream.
"You! You're not dead yet!?" The pale-faced man turned around and saw this horrifying scene. He cried out in shock and quickly drew his pistol, pointing it at the girl.
The pale-faced man had just taken aim when the girl in front of him vanished. Just as he was wondering if he had encountered a ghost, a figure appeared behind him like a phantom.
The girl grabbed the man's gun-wielding hand, and with a seemingly casual twist of her wrist, she transferred the gun to her own hand, followed by a 'bang'.
Within seconds, both tall men were lifeless.
The girl, however, raised the pistol for a closer look, somewhat puzzled.
She had never seen such an old model of handgun before; even the low-level thugs in the underground streets wouldn't bother using it!
She looked at her outfit again. Although she couldn't see her own face, she was certain that this was not her body!
She rubbed her forehead, her head aching, as a flood of memories rushed into her mind.
The girl's name is Xi Yu, just like her real name.
She was just an ordinary high school student, but she offended someone and was murdered and her body mutilated. Right after she died, Xi Yu transmigrated into her body.
She comes from the future, a thousand years in the future, and is a mercenary.
Once hailed as the queen of the mercenary world, she has now become a frail and ordinary young girl!
Xi Yu's expression was rather unpleasant. From the original owner's memories, she knew that the original owner had a weak personality since childhood and was often bullied, which was the opposite of her own personality!
However, now that she's using this body, she won't let any of those who caused her trouble get away with it! She's a legend in the mercenary world, destined to stand at the top!
Xi Yu loosened her stiff body and threw the two dead men, along with the pistol, into the lake.
She noticed a small wolf head pattern on the bottom of the pistol, and she was certain that she did not have any memory of this pattern in the original owner's mind.
She then spent a considerable amount of time starting the car engine, releasing the brakes, and then pushed the car into the lake, watching as the water submerged everything before leaving.
This was a habit she had developed over many years as a mercenary; she would never leave any evidence that would allow others to trace her back to her.
