Chapter 27 1 Gifts
Chapter 27 1 Gifts
"stop!"
A shrill voice shouted.
But how could the bloodthirsty crowd notice this voice?
He hesitated for only a moment before attacking Lu Yangyang again.
Lu Yangyang was no pushover either, but she didn't take this small group of people seriously at all.
As for injuries, they are commonplace for her.
She spun around, grabbed the stick that was about to hit her leg, and with a forceful pull, snapped it in two. The person who lost their balance fell towards her, and Lu Yangyang seized the opportunity to kick them, sending them flying several meters away.
But then someone else came over and kicked Lu Yangyang to the ground again, making her mouth full of dirt.
She spat, and the surroundings suddenly fell silent.
She braced herself on the ground with both hands, looked up, and saw a boy sitting in a wheelchair.
The other person was dressed in a white brocade robe that she couldn't describe, like brocade in the clouds, a celestial being, but no matter how beautiful the fabric, it couldn't compare to that face.
A picture so perfect that it has no flaws whatsoever. Even if Lu Yangyang exhausted all her imagination in her life, she could not have imagined such a perfect and exquisite picture. It could only be a picture of a celestial being.
She felt her mind go blank, staring blankly at the person in front of her, momentarily lost in thought.
The man extended a hand to her and asked gently, "Can you get up?"
As if possessed, Lu Yangyang grasped that hand. The hand was very cold, as cold as a dead person's, without any warmth.
Lu Yangyang grabbed that hand and stumbled to her feet.
"Greetings, Your Highness!" A group of people around them knelt down in unison.
Lu Yangyang finally came to her senses and looked down at his hands, which were clearly black and white and still clasped together. His hands were much larger than hers, white as jade, long and slender, and seemed to have not much more flesh than hers, which were as thin as chicken claws.
Her thin, dark hand gripped him like a mouse plunged into a rice jar; the contrast between black and white was truly glaring.
Lu Yangyang quickly let go and took a step back.
"You said you could cure Su Fengqu's leg injury, is that right?" the Crown Prince asked.
“I can,” Lu Yangyang replied.
“Alright, you treat him,” the crown prince said.
"Your Highness, you mustn't!" someone shouted.
"Why not?" the crown prince asked, looking at the crowd.
The group of people looked at each other in disbelief, never expecting that His Highness the Crown Prince would appear at the polo field.
It should be noted that since His Highness the Crown Prince was injured, he has rarely appeared in public. This is probably the first time he has come out in almost half a year.
"Your Majesty, this concerns Fengqu's future after all, so it's best to be cautious," the Third Prince stepped forward and kindly reminded him.
The Fifth Prince, who had been shouting so loudly just moments before, now stood like a quail, not daring to utter a single word.
"Cousin, you've finally arrived! That's wonderful! Believe me, Yangyang really can do it! I'm not lying, everything I said is true! Miss Sheng Si, Miss Sheng Si can vouch for me!" Yan Yue almost cried when he saw his savior arrive. He jumped over in a few steps and looked at His Highness the Crown Prince excitedly.
Sheng Yunjiao was already terrified, but when Yan Yue pulled her out of it, she hurriedly nodded in agreement: "Yes, I can vouch for her, Yangyang really can! He's the one who healed Yan Yue's leg!"
The Crown Prince did not respond to their words, but instead raised his hand to signal someone to push him in front of Su Fengqu. "I will give you a chance to let this young lady heal your injuries. If you agree, I will take responsibility for all the consequences. If you do not agree, I will have someone investigate today's events thoroughly and give you justice. I will also inform His Majesty and ensure that you are not wronged."
Su Fengqu pursed her lips, a rare occurrence for her.
His dramatic, life-or-death screaming just moments ago seemed like an illusion; now, with a pale face, he looked weak, pitiful, and helpless.
He wasn't stupid. If it weren't for the Crown Prince's words, he could have gotten what he wanted no matter how much trouble he caused, and neither Yan Yue nor Lu Yangyang would have ended up well.
But the Crown Prince's words were a clear message to him: he had no choice but to agree, or he would have to go directly to the Emperor for a decision.
No matter how much face the Emperor gives to Empress Su, he won't really let Su Fengqu shout for violence. Even if he is truly crippled, it might all be for nothing.
"I...I'm willing to let her treat me." Su Fengqu didn't even dare to think for too long; just a few brief thoughts flashed through her mind before she subconsciously opened her mouth.
As he spoke, he couldn't help but feel a glimmer of hope, yet also a sense of utter despair.
His face, which had been so fierce just moments before, completely slumped down.
"What preparations do you need to make, young lady?" the Crown Prince asked Lu Yangyang.
"Just find a clean place. Prepare some strong liquor, gauze, and cotton thread," Lu Yangyang replied.
The Crown Prince looked at Prince Rong, who hurriedly ordered someone to make arrangements.
Su Fengqu was quickly carried to a clean room. Treatment was not to be watched by others, so in the end, only Lu Yangyang, Imperial Physician Lu, and the eunuch from the Crown Prince's side went in.
Everyone else was waiting in another room.
About half an hour later, Lu Yangyang washed her hands and came out.
Physician Lu followed them out.
Everyone hurriedly looked at the two of them, and Yan Yue was the first to ask, "How is it?"
"Incredible skill, truly incredible skill!" Physician Lu stroked his beard, his face full of surprise and admiration. "This old minister has never seen such a miraculous technique before. It is truly astonishing that someone could stitch up broken bones like this. It is simply, simply divine craftsmanship! It is unbelievable!"
At this moment, Su Fengqu's father, Su Shizi, who had received the news, also rushed over and asked excitedly, "Is he really cured? Will he be left with a disability?"
After saying this, he was stunned for a moment, and cautiously glanced at His Highness the Crown Prince. Seeing that the Crown Prince had no expression, he secretly breathed a sigh of relief and looked at Physician Lu expectantly.
The young master Su was plump and looked very prosperous. He had finally gotten such a son, and he didn't even want to think about what would happen if he were to become disabled due to some accident.
"From what I've seen, I'm at least 90% certain that as long as Young Master Su rests well for a while, he will be fine," Physician Lu replied with great certainty.
Prince Su was finally relieved and clasped his hands together, saying, "May God protect us, may God protect us!"
"Your Excellency is so kind and virtuous, please accept my bow!" Prince Su immediately bent down to give Lu Yangyang a deep bow.
Just then, a discordant voice rang out: "Even if she really did heal Su Fengqu, wasn't Su Fengqu's injury also thanks to her? Young Master Su, aren't you just offering New Year's greetings to your enemy?"
It was the Fifth Prince who spoke.
"Fifth Brother!" the Third Prince said softly.
The Fifth Prince muttered, "I didn't say anything wrong!"
"The truth of the matter hasn't been found out yet! I already said that when Su Fengqu fell off her horse, Yangyang had already left. There's definitely something fishy about this!" Yan Yue argued, dissatisfied.
"Uncle, I'll trouble you to investigate this matter thoroughly now," the Crown Prince said calmly. "Until the truth is revealed, I don't want to hear any more of your wild speculations."
The crowd immediately fell silent.
Lu Yangyang looked at the Crown Prince with bright eyes: "You're such a kind person."
The crown prince paused for a moment, then smiled slightly and gestured for someone to bring him a box. “You did very well today. I will give you a gift.”
