A carefree soldier king in the city

Chapter 649 Going crazy

Chapter 649 Going crazy

The Buddha said, “Venerable Shariputra, you must not speak nonsense. You are the ancestor of all Buddhas. Who would dare to disrespect you?”

"Hmph!" Sun Wukong snorted coldly and said, "Buddha, you know in your heart whether I, Old Sun, am talking nonsense or not. In front of all the beings of the Three Realms, you conferred upon me the title of Namo Great Sage Relic King Buddha, but you were afraid that I, Old Sun, would shake your position. So when Guanyin Bodhisattva asked you back then, you said that although I, Old Sun, have become the new ancestor of all Buddhas, I still cannot escape your palm."

"Sun Wukong, stop talking nonsense!" Buddha was clearly angry and scolded.

Sun Wukong sneered, "What a joke! I'm talking nonsense. Then I, Old Sun, will play out your conversation with Guanyin Bodhisattva back then for everyone to hear."

"presumptuous!"

With a shout, Buddha reached out and grabbed Sun Wukong. Before everyone's eyes, a golden palm firmly grasped Sun Wukong.

All the immortals and Buddhas were greatly alarmed, because this was the second time that the Buddha had attacked Sun Wukong. The first time was five hundred years ago when Sun Wukong attacked him because of the Jing River Dragon King. Now he had attacked him again. If they had known, Sun Wukong would now be the ancestor of all Buddhas, with a status even above the Buddha.

Just as everyone was astonished, Sun Wukong let out a muffled shout, and the golden hand that had grabbed him vanished into thin air. Buddha Tathagata also frowned.

Tathagata, the ancestor of all Buddhas, I, Old Sun, no longer care for that. I'll return it to you now.

With that, Sun Wukong let out another muffled roar, and the golden light around his body disappeared, replaced by his beloved purple-gold crown, golden armor, and cloud-walking boots. He also held the Ruyi Jingu Bang in his hand and angrily said, "Buddha, I, Old Sun, saved you back then, and instead of being grateful, you even tried to trap me. You deserve to die."

"Wukong, how dare you be so rude!" Tang Sanzang quickly stood up and said.

Sun Wukong remained respectful to Tang Sanzang throughout, saying, "Master, it's not that I, Old Sun, am being rude, but someone has disrespected me, and I can't stand this humiliation."

"Wukong, if you have any grievances, you can tell your master, and your master will share your burdens," Tang Sanzang advised.

“Yes, eldest brother,” Sha Wujing said, “If you have any grievances, you can tell Master, and Master will share your burdens.”

This time, Pigsy was quite sensible and said, "Yes, Brother Monkey, today is the Jade Emperor's birthday. We can talk about anything after the banquet."

“No need,” Sun Wukong said. “I, Old Sun, am going to expose the hypocrisy of the Jade Emperor and Buddha in front of everyone. I, Old Sun, have been kind to all living beings in the Three Realms, but they have wronged me. Therefore, I would rather betray the world than let the world betray me. Buddha, Jade Emperor, I, Old Sun, am going to fulfill my vow from 1,300 years ago. As the saying goes, fortune turns, and next year it will be my turn. Jade Emperor, it’s time for me, Old Sun, to sit in your position.”

As he spoke, Sun Wukong threw his golden cudgel to the ground with a loud "bang," causing the entire Lingxiao Palace to shake violently. The Jade Emperor's face changed drastically in fright, and Taibai Jinxing shouted repeatedly, "Protect the Emperor! Protect the Emperor!"

Immediately, the Four Heavenly Kings, Li Jing the Pagoda-Bearing Heavenly King, Nezha the Third Prince, Erlang Shen, the Four Vajras, the Eight Great Bodhisattvas, the Eighteen Arhats, and dozens of other gods and Buddhas surrounded Sun Wukong.

Nezha, the Third Prince, said urgently, "Venerable Relic, stop fooling around."

Among the gods, Sun Wukong and Nezha had a fairly good relationship, so Sun Wukong said, "Nezha, you should know my character and my abilities. For the sake of our deep friendship, I will not be your enemy. Leave here quickly."

"Great Sage," Nezha changed his form of address, and said, "Your master, the Buddha of Immeasurable Merit, said that any grievances should be addressed after the Jade Emperor's birthday banquet. You won't get any benefit from doing this."

"Heh," Sun Wukong sneered, "I, Old Sun, never said I wanted any benefits. I just want my things back. Nezha, get out of the way right now, or don't blame me for being impolite."

"Great Sage, stop being so stubborn and step back now," Nezha said.

“Good, good, good,” Sun Wukong said three times in a row, and then said, “Nezha, since you insist on stopping me, then don’t blame me, old Sun. Anyone who blocks my way shall die!”

Having said that, he let out a muffled roar, and a powerful, substantial wave suddenly emanated from his body, blasting Nezha, Li Jing (the Pagoda-Bearing Heavenly King), Erlang Shen, the Four Heavenly Kings, the Four Vajras, and others away. The other immortals and Buddhas were all terrified. The Jade Emperor hurriedly hid behind the Buddha, poked his head out, and said in a trembling voice, "Guards, quickly capture this demon monkey!"

The Buddha roared, “Sun Wukong, I hereby appoint you as the new Ancestor of All Buddhas, the head of all Buddhas, yet you remain untamed and cause trouble here. Leave immediately, or I will surely annihilate you.”

"Hahahaha!" Sun Wukong laughed and said, "Buddha, don't you feel ashamed when you say that? I feel ashamed, not you!"

He quickly went to Sun Wukong's side and said urgently, "Wukong, I know you have many grievances in your heart. Listen to me, stop fooling around and quickly apologize to Buddha."

Sun Wukong said, "Master, I, Old Sun, am not being reckless. It's one thing if the Jade Emperor doesn't take me seriously, but even Buddha doesn't take me seriously. Master, if you were in my shoes, how would you feel?"

Sun Wukong's words left Tang Sanzang speechless. Initially, he, Zhu Bajie, and Sha Wujing, seeing that the Buddha Relic King hadn't arrived, assumed he had forgotten. Little did they know, the Jade Emperor hadn't invited him at all. Any one of them would have felt uncomfortable in this situation; forgetting to invite him was simply unacceptable, especially since all the officials, high and low, from the celestial and Buddhist realms—Buddhas and Bodhisattvas—had been invited, except for him. Furthermore, considering Sun Wukong's earlier words and the Buddha's reaction, they understood the situation perfectly.

Pigsy stepped forward to defend Sun Wukong, saying to the Jade Emperor, "Jade Emperor, this is your fault. Back then, Brother Monkey sacrificed himself to save your life. He is your savior! But you didn't take him seriously. If it were me, I would be angry too."

"Bajie, stop talking and don't stir up trouble," Tang Sanzang quickly scolded.

Pigsy said, “Master, it’s not that I, Pigsy, am being nosy, nor that I, Sun Wukong, am stirring up trouble. It was the Jade Emperor who was wrong to do this.”
