Chapter 646 Heaven

Chapter 646 Heaven

"Four seniors, rest assured, even if you don't say it, I know what's going on. Farewell!"

Hongjun Laozu and the others looked at each other and then nodded in unison.

The story goes that Sun Wukong, to protect Tang Sanzang on his journey to retrieve the Buddhist scriptures, overcame numerous obstacles and tribulations, enduring eighty-one hardships. Ultimately, Tang Sanzang and his disciples all achieved their goal. Tang Sanzang was bestowed the title of Sandalwood Merit Buddha; Sun Wukong was named the Victorious Fighting Buddha; Zhu Wuneng was appointed the Cleansing Altar Messenger; Sha Wujing was made a Golden-Bodied Arhat; and even the White Dragon Horse was named one of the Eight Heavenly Dragons. From then on, peace reigned in the Three Realms…

However, three hundred years later, Wutian, because Tang Sanzang and his disciples had colluded with wicked elements in Buddhism to secretly steal the scriptures during their journey to the West, plotting to commit evil, was thwarted by the Buddha. From then on, he harbored resentment towards the Buddhist world and waited for an opportunity to act, vainly wanting to replace the Buddha and dominate the Three Realms. Just then, the ancient Buddha passed away, and demons ran rampant. Wutian occupied Mount Ling, killed the Buddha, imprisoned immortals and Buddhas, and proclaimed himself Wutian Buddha Ancestor. Later, he was defeated by the Victorious Fighting Buddha Sun Wukong. Tang Sanzang and his disciples were once again conferred Buddhahood for their merit in fighting Wutian Buddha Ancestor. The Victorious Fighting Buddha of the past is now ranked first among all Buddhas, becoming the Namo Great Sage Relic King Buddha, whose status is even above that of the Buddha. Tang Sanzang is the Buddha of Immeasurable Merit, Pigsy is the Buddha of Wooden Mother Golden Lotus, Sandy is the Buddha of Golden Body Light King, and the White Dragon is the Buddha of Golden Body Powerful Dragon Ancestor.

After the disaster ended, all beings in the Three Realms thought that peace would prevail from then on. Little did they know that another unprecedented disaster would strike the realms of immortals and Buddhas. This time, the disaster was not caused by natural disasters or man-made calamities, but by the realms of immortals and Buddhas themselves.

When the Three Realms were at peace, the Buddha said this in front of all beings in the Three Realms: "Kalpas are in the heavens, karmic calamities are without heavens, the jade palace is clear and bright, there is no heaven but there is heaven."

Little did they know, these words contained a hidden meaning.

Five hundred years later...

That day, Sun Wukong, the Great Sage Relic King Buddha, was sitting in meditation, his whole body radiating Buddha light, shining brightly. However, he suddenly felt a tightness in his chest and a sense of unease. He had a vague feeling that something ominous was about to happen, so he tried to deduce it with his fingers, but he couldn't deduce anything. So he muttered to himself, "Strange, since the Three Realms are at peace, why am I so uneasy?"

He then closed his eyes and sat down again. However, as his mind calmed down, a strange, ethereal voice suddenly echoed in his mind: "Sun Wukong, hello!"

"Who?" Sun Wukong asked, frowning.

"Hello, Sun Wukong!"

The voice rang out again, and Sun Wukong asked once more, "May I ask your esteemed name, benefactor?"

Suddenly, a strange wisp of black smoke rose in front of him, and then a loser-looking man appeared in front of him. At first glance, who else could this person be but Su Haijun?

It turned out that while this fellow was out seeking a fortuitous encounter, the evil spirit suddenly left his body and disappeared without a trace. He was furious, cursing the evil spirit for coming and going so easily. Just as he was venting his anger, an old man suddenly appeared before him. After a brief exchange, the old man said he was a prodigy, a truly excellent talent, and thus passed on to him a unique Daoist technique. To his astonishment, after the old man taught him this unique technique, his cultivation level instantly reached a terrifying level that even he couldn't have imagined—the Lesser Dao Realm.

Perhaps this is destiny!

Before leaving, the old man revealed a secret to him, which led him to the Three Realms.

"Who are you, benefactor?" Sun Wukong asked.

Su Haijun smiled slightly and said, "Sun Wukong, aren't you known as the ancestor of all Buddhas in the Three Realms? How come you don't even know who I am?"

Upon hearing this, Sun Wukong mentally tried to deduce the identity of the suddenly appearing youth, but he still couldn't figure it out. He was quite surprised and said, "You must have come from the lower realm!"

The reason he asked this question was that, apart from the human realm, he had never seen this person before in the Three Realms.

“That’s right,” Su Haijun nodded. “I do come from the lower realm. Sun Wukong, I thought you were all that capable, but it turns out you’re nothing special!”

"Amitabha!"

Sun Wukong chanted a Buddhist prayer and then said, “Although I can see all the things in the universe, know all the things in the universe, and understand all kinds of things in the universe, I think that although you come from the lower realm, there are others secretly covering up the secrets of heaven for you.”

Upon hearing this, Su Haijun was slightly startled, then laughed and said, "Sun Wukong, you guessed the first half of my story, but you can't guess the second half."

“Whether it is right or wrong, you know it in your heart. May I ask why you have come here? What business do you have with me?” Sun Wukong asked.

Su Haijun said, "I'm here to stand up for you."

"Oh?" Sun Wukong was slightly surprised and asked, "What do you mean?"

Su Haijun said, "Sun Wukong, Buddha has appointed you as the ancestor of all Buddhas, but do you know that his power is still above yours? Five hundred years ago, you saved all living beings in the Three Realms, but they did not appreciate your kindness. On the contrary, Guanyin and Buddha have always been revered by the world. Look at that..."

With a flick of his finger, Su Haijun conjured up a scene before Sun Wukong's eyes: people worshipping Guanyin and Buddha, people frantically buying Buddha statues and jade pendants for good luck, and people entertaining themselves with monkey tricks...

"Amitabha! Good! Good!"

Sun Wukong clasped his hands together and shook his head. However, what he saw next made him frown slightly.

This is footage of people harvesting monkey brains while they are still alive. The footage is accompanied by sound, and some people even dress up monkeys as the Monkey King.

Seeing that he had finally stirred up a trace of anger in Sun Wukong's heart, Su Haijun flicked his finger and injected a wisp of black smoke into Sun Wukong's body, causing Sun Wukong to instantly lose control and fly into a rage: "Outrageous! Absolutely outrageous! I, Old Sun, saved the world, yet I end up like this."

"Ah!"

Su Haijun sneered, saying, "Sun Wukong, who do you think you are? Do you really think you're the Great Sage Relic King Buddha? Wake up! That was just Tathagata giving you a halo to appease you after saving all sentient beings in the Three Realms. To put it bluntly, you're just a pawn in their hands, placed anywhere at will. Think about it, eight hundred years ago, you escorted Tang Sanzang on his journey to the West, but you were restrained by Guanyin's golden headband. Five hundred years ago, you saved all sentient beings in the Three Realms, but all you got in return was a dazzling halo. Tell me, aren't you a pathetic wretch?"

"Shut up!"

In a fit of anger, Sun Wukong slapped Su Haijun, only to find that his hand had missed its mark. Startled, he quickly looked to the side and saw Su Haijun with his hands clasped together in front of his chest.

"What?" Su Haijun sneered and said, "Did I say something wrong? Sun Wukong, someone like you will always live in the eyes of others and will never escape the Buddha's Five Finger Mountain."
