Chapter 611 Ancient Era
Chapter 611 Ancient Era
In the ancient primordial era, at the Hongjun Pavilion.
Around the pavilion, golden rays shone brightly, red rainbows rolled, auspicious clouds stretched in thousands, and purple mist billowed. The pavilion itself was crafted from deep blue glazed tiles and adorned with gleaming precious jade. Before the pavilion grew flowers that would never wither and auspicious grasses that would remain evergreen for ten thousand years.
Inside the pavilion, an elderly man in a purple Taoist robe, holding a tree branch, sat upright in the hall. Without a doubt, he was Hongjun Laozu. Behind him on the wall was a portrait of an elderly man in a gray robe, holding a palm-leaf fan. The old man was riding on auspicious clouds, stroking his beard, as if he were ascending to heaven.
At this moment, Hongjun Laozu was meditating with his eyes closed when suddenly a white light flashed before the hall. Immediately afterwards, Hunkun Zushi, Nuwa Niangniang, and Lu Ya Daoren all rose to their feet. They first bowed respectfully to the portrait, and then said in unison:
"Big brother."
Hongjun Patriarch nodded, then opened his eyes and said, "Please sit down!"
The three, including the Hunkun Ancestor, took their seats according to their assigned numbers. The Hongjun Ancestor asked them, "Did you all sense it?"
They answered in unison, "We sensed it."
Hongjun Laozu then asked Nuwa, "Third Junior Sister, I heard that you planted a seed of salvation in the human realm. Is that true?"
Nuwa replied, "Yes, eldest brother, after I mended the sky with stones and created humans from clay, I sensed that a great calamity was about to befall the human world. That's why I planted a seed in the human world. Whether this seed can sprout and grow depends on its own destiny."
Ancestor Hunkun and Daoist Lu Ya nodded in unison. Daoist Lu Ya said, "Third Senior Sister has always been kind-hearted. She has gone to great lengths for the world that my disciple created, and even spent half her life planting this seed. Alas, I, as her junior brother, am truly ashamed!"
"Fourth Junior Brother," said Ancestor Hunkun, "you are lazy and lazy, always fooling around and messing around. You are never serious for a single day. How dare you say that! You don't do your disciples' work, but make Third Junior Sister do it for you. Is this how a junior brother should act?"
Upon hearing this, Daoist Lu Ya laughed and said, "Second Senior Brother, you know me all too well. I've always been like this: not within the Three Teachings, not in the Land of Ultimate Bliss, not under the rule of the Human King, not subject to the Underworld. I roam freely and unrestrained, a carefree and independent immortal. How wonderful! How wonderful!"
Hongjun Patriarch shook his head and smiled, then said, “Everyone has their own ambitions. Fourth Junior Brother is just like that by nature, so why should Second Junior Brother blame him? Third Junior Sister is compassionate and cherishes all living beings, which is a blessing for all living beings. Master once told me that one day someone will surpass us, or even surpass him.”
Upon hearing this, Ancestor Hunkun and the others exclaimed in surprise, "Senior Brother, did Master really say such a thing?"
Hongjun Patriarch nodded and smiled, "That's right, that's what Master said, and he also said that this person will come from the hands of Third Junior Sister."
Lu Ya Daoist said, "In that case, this person is the seed that Third Junior Sister planted in the mortal world!"
Hongjun Ancestor smiled slightly and said, "Whether it is or not depends on its fate. Third Junior Sister, I think that if we want this seed to sprout and grow, we must give it some resistance. Only in this way can it grow quickly."
The goddess Nuwa asked, "Does my eldest brother have any good suggestions?"
Hongjun Patriarch said, "On the one hand, we should give him motivation, but on the other hand, we should give him some resistance. Second Brother, you should be his resistance, and Fourth Brother, you should help him. Only in this way can he grow better."
Ancestor Hunkun and Daoist Lu Ya both replied, "Yes, Senior Brother."
Suddenly, the four of them looked at the celestial mirror outside the door and saw a bright light suddenly appear on the distant horizon before disappearing.
Hongjun Laozu and the others exchanged glances and then smiled at each other.
The time machine started, and a strong sense of weightlessness immediately followed. Potato felt as if his whole body was a fallen leaf, swaying in the wind. He had a lot of strength but couldn't use it. He could only helplessly sink downwards, with only the eternal and bottomless abyss pulling him down.
Fortunately, this terrifying feeling didn't last long. Suddenly, a powerful force appeared and pulled him, and Potato felt his body suddenly lighten, as if he had been thrown out like a pebble. The next moment, he felt a sudden bright light before his eyes, and a dazzling light swept over him. His body involuntarily fell from about three meters above the ground and crashed heavily to the ground.
"Hiss!" The violent impact made Potato gasp, but after he calmed down, he found that the place where he fell was actually a relatively soft grassy area, and a smell of grass and soil filled the air around him.
"Oh my god!"
Potato stood up, stretched his body, and made sure that he was not injured after the initial fall and impact. Then he looked around, filled with curiosity about what this ancient world would be like.
As an extraordinary second life, to put it bluntly, apart from some physical differences, it is actually no different from a human. Therefore, it has all the thoughts and behaviors that a human should have.
Before entering this mysterious and unknown world, Potato had secretly wondered what it would be like. He had imagined many dangerous scenarios, but he never expected to see such a scene. An ancient and mysterious world, permeated with a primal aura, evoked a sense of primal rebirth, as if everything were starting from scratch. Out of the corner of his eye, he saw Seventh Master standing with his hands behind his back, gazing at the mountaintop, seemingly deep in thought. He asked, "Seventh Master, what are you thinking about?"
Seventh Master shook his head and said, "It's nothing."
Potato said "Oh," and then asked, "Seventh Master, have we arrived in the ancient era?"
Seventh Master grunted in agreement, pondered for a moment, and then said, "My mission is complete. It's time to go back."
"Go back?" Potato was startled and asked, "Where to, Seventh Master?"
Seventh Master stroked his beard and laughed, "Of course, we should go back to where we came from."
"Seventh Master, are you going to abandon me?" Potato asked anxiously.
Seventh Master smiled but did not answer. After a moment, he said, "Potato, this is at the foot of Hongya Cliff. Above is the Daoist temple of Ancestor Hongjun. Go up! I should go now."
After saying that, without waiting for Potato's reaction, Seventh Master disappeared at Hongya's feet.
"Seventh Master, Seventh Master!" Potato called out urgently, but it was too late. He could only sigh, "Alas! How could you just leave like that! You haven't even told me your true identity yet!"
