Chapter 600 Test
Chapter 600 Test
Tang Gun scratched his head and chuckled, "Tian Yue, from now on, Ah Hong is my woman, Tang Gun's woman."
"Ah?" Chao Bufan feigned surprise again, then nodded and said, "Oh, I knew it! So you two... Well, congratulations, may you two be united in marriage. Miss Hong, how has your mother been lately?"
Upon hearing this, Ah Hong's face darkened, and Ma Sanpao quickly whispered, "Tian Yue, Ah Hong's mother passed away three months ago."
Chao Bufan paused for a moment, then said apologetically, "I'm sorry, Miss Ah Hong, I didn't know your mother..."
Ah Hong smiled slightly and said, "It's alright."
"Alright." Chao Bufan's expression turned serious. "Let's get down to business. Sanpao, have you notified all the major sects?"
Ma Sanpao spoke first, saying, "Don't worry! They've already notified everyone."
"What did they say?" Chao Bufan asked again.
Yuan Qiu said, "At first, they didn't take us seriously and didn't believe us. After we taught them a lesson, they all agreed to arrive at the isolated city on time at noon the day after tomorrow."
Upon hearing this, Chao Bufan nodded, then picked up the wine in front of him, took a sip, put down the glass, and said, "Fatty, Sanpao, Tang Gun, there's something I want to ask you."
"Go ahead and ask, what is it?" the fat man said.
Chao Bufan pondered for a moment, then asked, "Do you want to join the Lonely City?"
"What do you mean?" Ma Sanpao asked.
Chao Bufan said, "I'm going on a long trip tomorrow and won't be back for a long time. I hope you can join our Lonely City and become a member of it."
"Can we?" Ma Sanpao asked.
“If you’re willing,” Chao Bufan said, “of course you can.”
“Tian Yue,” Yuan Qiu said, “we will do whatever you say, but we don’t know how your three senior brothers are doing.”
"It's alright. I've already spoken to them, and they've agreed to let you join the Lonely City. From now on, you'll all be fellow disciples."
"Really?" Yuan Qiu and the others exclaimed with delight.
Chao Bufan grunted in agreement and said, "You shall head to the Lonely City tomorrow!"
Yuan Qiu and the others replied in unison, "Okay, no problem."
"Tianyue, does Gucheng need women?" Tang Gun asked.
Upon hearing this, Chao Bufan glanced at Ah Hong and said, "You mean Miss Ah Hong, right?"
Tang Gun gave an embarrassed "Mm".
Seeing this, Chao Bufan laughed and said, "Of course, Miss Ah Hong, you should go with them tomorrow!"
Ah Hong happily replied, "Okay."
Ma Sanpao suddenly remembered what Chao Bufan had just said about going on a long trip, so he asked, "Tianyue, you said you're going on a long trip tomorrow, how long will it take?"
Upon hearing this, Chao Bufan shook his head and said, "I don't know, maybe soon, maybe a long time."
“Where are you going? If you don’t have time to come back, then we’ll come find you,” Yuan Qiu said.
“No need,” Chao Bufan quickly said, “I’m going to a very, very far place. I can’t tell you about it. When you arrive in Gucheng tomorrow, ask my senior brother and the others. They will tell you.”
"You mean it's different from what he said?" Tang Gun asked.
“Of course they’re different,” Chao Bufan replied.
“Alright! Then we’ll ask your senior brother tomorrow,” Yuan Qiu said.
Chao Bufan smiled and then said, "I think it's getting late, everyone should go back and rest!"
"Okay, then we'll go back and rest."
Because Chao Bufan generously gave the boss a gold bar yesterday, the boss naturally didn't accept a penny for this meal.
When Chao Bufan returned to the lonely city, he did not rush to enter. Instead, he stood in front of the mountain, eagerly waiting for Baihe and the others to return.
"Bufan, we're back."
Not long after, Lily and the others returned.
Chao Bufan quickly asked, "Baihe, has Linglong agreed to come with us?"
“Of course,” Lily laughed. “With us personally taking charge, how could Linglong possibly refuse!”
"Good, good," Chao Bufan knew they had succeeded as soon as he heard Baihe call Linglong "little sister," and said "good" twice in a row, and asked happily, "Where is Linglong?"
"Then, see for yourself." Lily pointed behind her with her thumb.
The others quickly made way, standing on both sides, pushing Linglong, who was standing at the back, into the "eye of the storm." Chao Bufan quickly looked up and saw Linglong standing there with her head down. He was secretly pleased, but Baihe grabbed Chao Bufan's hand and whispered, "Bufan, there's something I want to tell you. You'd better be prepared!"
Upon hearing this, Chao Bufan's heart tightened. Baihe pulled Chao Bufan aside and hesitated.
Chao Bufan frowned slightly and asked, "Baihe, what's wrong?"
Baihe said, "The child in Linglong's belly..."
"What's wrong with the child?" Chao Bufan asked urgently.
“Unusual,” Baihe asked, “do you care who the father of Linglong’s baby is?”
Upon hearing this, Chao Bufan's heart skipped a beat, and he was stunned for a moment, because he had never thought about this question before. If the father of Linglong's child was not me, would I still care about her? Baihe's words were like a bucket of cold water being poured over his head, making him feel as if he had fallen into an ice cave.
“Bufan, Linglong said that if you don’t care who the father of the child in her belly is, she can come with us. You can decide for yourself!” Baihe added.
Her words were simple, yet those few simple words pierced his heart like a sharp knife.
Chao Bufan frowned, quickly turning back to steal a glance at Linglong. His heart ached for no reason. He asked himself, why is this happening? What should I do if the child in her belly isn't mine? Do I still love her?
His heart began to clench, a sharp pain gripping him, but he knew he had to make a choice.
“Bufan, you need to think this through carefully. Do you care about her as a person, or about the child in her belly?”
Baihe's always "just right" pillow talk left Chao Bufan no time to think. He smiled bitterly to himself, "Yes, do I care about her as a person, or about the child in her belly?"
He asked himself again, are these things important? Are they really that important? If I care, then why do I still love her? If I care, then why do I still want her to come with me? Suddenly, he smiled, a smile that was open and natural.
Lily asked, puzzled, "Bufan, what are you laughing at?"
Chao Bufan smiled and said, "I've figured it out. No matter who the child's father is, I still love her because I care about her present and her future, not her past."
"Really?" Lily asked.
“Nonsense,” Chao Bufan said irritably, “Do you think I’m lying? I love her. I don’t care about her past or who the father of her child is, because I love her for who she is.”
