Chapter 469 The game continues
However, most of those wailing were eighth-year students. To the entire eighth-year class, Jason Stein was the strongest, even the strongest, student in the multi-elemental class and the entire eighth year—a true genius. His magical skills were unmatched by anyone below the ninth grade; even most ninth-year students were no match for him and would blush in his presence.
Therefore, none of them believed that Jason Steinling had died just like that, and that he had been punched to death by his opponent, leaving no trace of his body except for his head.
"My God, who is this guy? He's so powerful, he actually knocked Jason Stein out with one punch."
Finally, someone in the crowd accepted the "cruel" fact: Jason Steining had indeed been killed by a single punch from his opponent; apart from his head, his entire body had turned into a rain of blood. That was the truth.
"Hiss~~~~~~~~~~"
As soon as the man finished speaking, a collective gasp rippled through the crowd. In moments, the once noisy playground fell silent, a deathly stillness. Many began speculating: who was this incredibly violent and ruthless person? His strength was so overwhelming; with just a single fist, he could effortlessly obliterate an eighth-level high-ranking mage. They had initially assumed the match would be a foregone conclusion, a sure win for the Black Magic Academy. Many had even anticipated a dramatic, romantic encounter. However, their expectations were dashed. The match had barely begun when their academy's eighth-year magical genius, Jason Steinlin, was utterly defeated with a single punch, completely powerless to retaliate, without even a scream.
"Boy, what's your name?"
After a careful examination, Jobrida was shocked to discover that the young man who had blasted Jason Steinlin apart with a single punch actually possessed magical abilities inferior to Jason Steinlin's. Yes, inferior to him. How had he managed to do that? Not only was Jobrida baffled, but Sanchez was also completely bewildered. He forcibly suppressed the anger simmering within him and asked Chao Bufan in a calm tone.
Chao Bufan remained calm throughout. Even Bridal and the others, after a brief moment of shock, finally relaxed, their initial fear of their lives gone. They too faced off calmly, showing no fear. Chao Bufan smiled slightly and said, "You're so eager to know my name, are you planning to forfeit this match and declare our magic academy the winner?"
Upon hearing this, Chobrida frowned, a clear murderous glint flashing in his eyes. He sneered and said, "Boy, didn't the academy teach you how to behave? Since you're so arrogant and rude, let me teach you how to behave!"
"Ha," Chao Bufan sneered, "Stop acting like an old man, okay? How I conduct myself is my business. Do you need to teach me? Your job now is to be a good referee, not to teach others how to be human."
Chao Bufan's tone was firm and fearless. It wasn't that he disrespected the other party; it was simply that they hadn't given him a friendly welcome from the start, and he couldn't possibly offer a warm welcome to someone who was cold to him. That wasn't in his nature, and he couldn't do it. Didn't they all agree that they were destined to win this match? Didn't they all agree that we were doomed? Since we were going to die anyway, why bother being all smiles and jokes with them? Wasn't that just humiliating ourselves?
Jobrida and Sanchez were completely taken aback by Chao Bufan's arrogance and rudeness. Even many people in the audience were shocked, and a lot of people started talking about it.
"Who is this guy? How dare he speak to Mr. Chobrida like that? Does he have a death wish?"
"Who knows! But then again, this kid is really arrogant and has personality."
"Now, those few are doomed. How dare they challenge Mr. Chobrida's authority? They're asking for it!"
"Aha, this is going to be interesting."
Feeling that his authority had been challenged and that he had been insulted, Chobrida frowned and looked Chao Bufan up and down again before saying in a cold voice, "Boy, how dare you talk to me like that? Aren't you afraid of dying?"
"Death? Of course I'm afraid of death. Who isn't afraid of death?" Chao Bufan said with a disdainful look. "Since we dared to come here to participate in the competition, we were already prepared to die. Besides, you never intended for us to go back, did you?"
At this moment, Sanchez walked over, glanced at Chao Bufan, and then said indifferently, "Kid, since you already know the outcome, why do you still dare to speak to us like this?"
“It’s nothing,” Chao Bufan shrugged and tilted his head. “I’m just that kind of person. If you can’t stand it, you can announce the result of the match now and kill me. Otherwise, you can go back to being your referees.”
"You bastard, who do you think you are, daring to speak to the headmaster and the others like that? You're asking for death!" Morzart, a student from the eighth-grade fire class, finally realized what was happening and was immediately enraged. He first berated Chao Bufan, and then bowed to Jobrida and Sanchez, saying, "Mr. Jobrida, headmaster, please allow us to continue the competition. I want to avenge Jason Steinlin."
“Yes, we must avenge Jason Stein.” The other three contestants also said indignantly.
Upon hearing this, Jobrida and Sanchez exchanged a glance, a distinct unusual look flashing in their eyes. They nodded in unison and then turned back to their respective seats.
Chao Bufan took it all in stride, a slight smirk playing on his lips. He then sent a telepathic message to Bridal and the others: “Listen up, when we make our move, just keep an eye on these two old geezers. Don’t let them trick you. I’ll handle these guys.”
Upon hearing this, Bridal and the others nodded without hesitation. They weren't fools; they had already clearly seen through the current situation and knew that the upcoming match was no longer a match in the traditional sense.
Chobrida sat down in his chair and said calmly, "The game continues."
Sure enough, as he spoke, he and Sanchez both took out something from their cloaks—their magic wands. Anyone with eyes could see what was about to happen. If anything was detrimental to their side, they would intervene and stop it until their student killed the other party. They might even lend a hand.
