Chapter 418 Forked Road
Chapter 418 Forked Road
"Kid, do you want to destroy this place? Look what you've done," Professor Madda said angrily.
"Huh?" Chao Bufan was stunned for a moment, then realized what had happened and quickly looked around. The ground, which had been perfectly fine, was now completely unrecognizable. He immediately understood, scratched his head, chuckled, and said with deep apology, "Um—I'm really sorry, I was just too excited, and as a result—"
"Get out! You lot, get as far away as you can, and don't let us see you again!" Professor Vox issued the order to leave, roaring with a gloomy expression.
Chao Bufan quickly put away his weapon, bowing and scraping as he said, "Yes, yes, we'll be off now."
As he spoke, he quickly glanced at Bridal and the others who were staring at him as if he were a monster, and waved his hand, saying, "Let's go, let's go."
Without hesitation, Bridal and the others quickly got up and chased after Chao Bufan.
After Chao Bufan and the others left, Professor Madda shook his head and gave a wry smile, saying, "Professor Kressdorf, don't you think what we did was unwise?"
Kressdorf didn't rush to answer him, seemingly thinking about something, before finally speaking: "Although this kid comes from the East, fortunately he's not wicked."
“I’m not saying he’s dishonest,” Professor Madda said dismissively. “You saw it for yourself, this kid is incredibly cunning! Don’t tell us he’s not a cultivator.”
Professor Madda's words hit the nail on the head, which was also the concern of the other three professors.
“This kid is indeed a remarkable cultivator,” Kressdorf said just as casually, “but he is also a student at the magic academy.”
“That being said, aren’t you worried that he has ulterior motives?” Professor Vox interjected.
Kressdorf smiled slightly and said, "Since this kid has come all this way to learn magic, it means that something 'unusual' must have happened to him. I'm sure this kid won't bring disaster to us."
"Let's hope so!" Professor Mida said helplessly. "This kid is indeed quite interesting. Professor Vox, what do you think?"
“It’s quite interesting,” Professor Vaux replied, “but—I feel like something’s not quite right.”
“Something’s not right?” Professor Beers asked.
"I don't know." Professor Vaux shook his head, his face serious. "Professor Kressdorf, what about you? Do you feel the same way?"
Krestor put away his wooden staff and said calmly, "This kid's strength far surpasses ours."
The others shared the same sentiment. Putting aside everything else, the weapon that Chao Bufan currently possessed was something they could only dream of.
“I just consulted the gods,” Kressdorf continued.
“What instructions does God have?” Professor Meda asked.
"God didn't say much, only that the boy was fine."
"That's all?" Professor Vox asked, puzzled.
“Well,” Kressdorf nodded, “that’s all.”
“It seems we were overthinking it,” Professor Madda said, finally relieved. “Professor Beers, what do you think?”
“If God has said so, what else can we say?” Professor Beers replied.
“Now I finally understand why the college let them participate in this competition,” Professor Madda said. “This kid goes without saying, and the other four also have their own unique qualities. This reminds me of our own time when we were about their age. They are a bit like us back then.”
“Yes,” Kressdorf nodded, “The academy’s arrangements are correct. With this kid around, winning the competition shouldn’t be a problem.”
“But the problem is,” Professor Vaux continued, “we should now consider what’s about to happen, Professor Kressdorf, what do you think?”
Suddenly, a deep rumble shattered the surrounding silence. They quickly looked up at the sky and saw that the few dark clouds that had been floating there had suddenly coalesced into a larger mushroom cloud. The thunder grew louder and louder, and flashes of lightning could be faintly seen through the dark clouds. However, after waiting for a long time, not a single drop of rain fell; it was clearly just thunder without rain.
“Professor Vox, you’re right. We should start thinking about what’s about to happen.” Kressdorf looked up, frowning as he stared at the “unusual” mushroom cloud, seemingly sensing danger. He spoke with a serious expression.
Then, the five of them walked toward the old building with the shape of a cannon barrel.
Over here, Chao Bufan and the others hurriedly left the Magic Canyon and appeared in front of the building carved into the middle of the mountain.
As soon as they came out, Bridal said, "Alright, we should be safe now."
“Yes, yes, we’re safe now,” Fenrit echoed excitedly.
Immediately, Bridal and the others cheered and jumped for joy—
"Aha! This trip to the Magic Canyon was definitely worthwhile. We've learned from the ashes, the transformation spell, the defense spell, the invisibility spell, all of these are things we can't learn in the academy."
"That's not all! We now have a real magic wand, awesome!"
"If we're talking about who benefited the most, it should be Bufan. Bufan, you're pretty good, not bad at all."
"Alright," Chao Bufan smiled slightly and said, "If you have so much free time to chat idly here, you should be thinking about how to get back!"
“How do we get back? By flying back, of course!” Fenrit said.
“But the problem is,” Chao Bufan said, looking ahead, “there are two exits ahead. Can any of you tell me which one we should take?”
"Two exits—wait, wait!" Bridal noticed too; there were indeed two exits ahead, and they were exactly the same. "That's not right!" he exclaimed in surprise. "When we came here, there was only one exit. How come there are two now?"
This is a very serious problem. There are two exits and two different passages. Which one should they take? The five people looked at the two exits in surprise, and for a moment they were unable to make a decision.
“Unbelievable, even you can’t be sure that the exit was the one we took before?” Dosru asked.
“I can’t be sure either,” Chao Bufan shook his head seriously, then said, “Brido, what about you?”
"I'm not sure either."
"Then we can only leave it to fate." Chao Bufan said solemnly as he walked towards the cave entrance.
The two caves were right next to each other. The five of them arrived at the cave entrance—
“I think we should take the left-hand passage,” Bridal said.
