Chapter 57: Stalemate
Chapter 57: Stalemate
Rumbling--
At the foot of the mountain, four SUVs were chasing after him. Once he realized that the other car had gone up to the top of the mountain, Brother Sen stopped paying attention to them and kept sending and replying to messages on his phone.
But at that moment, the entire mountain seemed to be shaking, and a series of loud rumbling sounds came from the top of the mountain.
"What's that? Is it an earthquake?"
Sen was stunned for a moment. His first thought was that it was an earthquake. The next second, he looked up, picked up his binoculars, and looked out the window.
A massive boulder, taller than an adult, was tumbling wildly down the mountain, and its diameter suddenly contracted to its maximum.
"Holy crap! Brakes! Brakes!"
Brother Sen, his eyes wide with rage, threw down his binoculars, grabbed the walkie-talkie, and yelled at the lead car, which was still charging forward, "Damn it, brake!"
crunch--
Four SUVs slammed on their brakes in succession, their tires leaving black marks on the muddy road before finally coming to a steady stop.
Less than ten seconds after they came to a complete stop, a cloud of dust billowed into the sky ahead.
A terrifying boulder suddenly rolled down from the mountaintop, blocking out the sunlight before everyone's eyes. It seemed to pause in mid-air for half a second before crashing heavily onto the outer edge of the roadside, a hundred meters in front of them.
boom--
The entire ground was shaking, and the edge of the road in front collapsed on the spot.
The giant rock that caused all this, under the fervent call of Mother Earth, continued its relentless march down the mountain, breaking trees and cracking the earth wherever it went.
After rolling for hundreds of meters, it finally crashed into a damp swamp at the bottom of the mountain with a loud bang, kicking up a cloud of mud and water that reached half a sky high.
"Rolling stones attack... They think this is some kind of ancient warfare, using the Thirty-Six Stratagems."
Brother Sen breathed a sigh of relief, his eyes cold as he looked at the lingering dust that had spread from the mountaintop all the way down. "Keep going," he said. "Kill them!"
The car continued forward, but after driving for several dozen meters, a strange buzzing sound suddenly came from outside the car.
Three strangely shaped, unfamiliar aircraft rushed through the smoke and dust.
The moment the convoy was spotted, the two aircraft quickly rose to a high altitude and spread out to the left and right to provide cover, with one of them locking onto the vehicle in the middle.
After circling for a moment, the aircraft passed over the privacy glass on both sides, locked onto the windshield where a person was visible, and aimed at the driver who was still gripping the steering wheel.
"Brother Sen, yes! That's it, that's what I'm looking at..." Xiaoshan shouted with delight as he saw the aircraft flying towards them.
Upon hearing his voice, everyone instinctively looked over, and the driver also raised his head and made eye contact with the camera below the strange aircraft.
呲——
A red dot appeared on the windshield, as if something was shining in.
"ah!!!"
The driver immediately let out a painful, piercing scream, took his hands off the steering wheel and jumped up, but was pulled back into his seat by the seatbelt.
Brother Sen was startled by the sudden shout and quickly gripped the steering wheel with his right hand, while also slapping the driver.
"Why are you yelling while driving without holding the steering wheel...?"
But before he could finish speaking, Brother Sen stopped, staring wide-eyed at the driver's lips in disbelief.
Suddenly, half of the driver's lip was torn off, the part still showing the glistening of cooked flesh, mixed with the blood gushing from the cut, making the whole scene look extremely bloody and terrifying.
"What is this...?"
Sen subconsciously looked up at the strange flying machine that had vanished in an instant.
"Brother Sen, watch out for the car! There's a pothole ahead!"
At this moment, Xiaoshan, who was sitting in the back row, hurriedly called out.
Brother Sen turned around abruptly and saw the roadside where the boulder had just collapsed right in front of him. Startled, he quickly swerved to the side.
boom!
The car swerved and crashed into the mountainside. The front of the car wobbled twice and then stalled.
"What the hell is this thing?!"
The burly man with a buzz cut in the back seat shook his head, looked at the aircraft that was lingering outside again, pulled out his pistol, opened the car door, and squeezed out.
Bang bang bang!
The burly man with the buzz cut fired three shots in quick succession, but the aircraft pulled up and dodged all the bullets.
The next second, the aircraft's attitude changed, and the person and the aircraft exchanged a friendly look.
Boo!
A faint red light, barely perceptible to the naked eye, flashed by.
Without the refraction and reduction of the glass, the burly man's right eye exploded, and the entire eyeball emitted visible steam.
"My eyes..."
The burly man with the buzz cut let out a piercing scream, but as soon as he finished speaking, a red dot about 1.5 centimeters in diameter moved to his neck.
呲——
The skin on the burly man's neck, targeted by the red dot, was ripped open, cooked through, and then charred. In less than a second, the major blood vessels and trachea inside were exposed to the laser's irradiation...
"Hehehe—"
The burly man suddenly widened his one eye and made a hoarse sound.
Blood gushed from the hole in his neck, spraying several meters away due to the immense pressure from his heart.
"Stop talking nonsense! Everyone stay on the bus! Block the windows!"
Upon witnessing this horrifying scene, Brother Sen's pupils contracted as he finally realized something and instinctively cried out.
But the next second, he saw another person open the car door in the back of the vehicle in front of him, get out of the car with a gun in hand and a fierce look on his face.
As soon as this guy got off the vehicle, these strange flying machines rushed over as if they had seen a relative. The next second, a mournful cry echoed through the mountains and forests, and a spurt of blood shot out.
His shooting was completely futile against the aircraft that was constantly moving in the air; not a single shot hit its mark.
"Don't you dare get off the bus!"
Seeing yet another subordinate fall, Brother Sen grabbed the walkie-talkie he had just forgotten and roared, "If you don't want to die, don't get out of the car! Everyone crouch down inside, open the hood to cover the windshield, and open the sun visors. Don't expose yourselves!"
"But... Brother Sen, the hoods on our side aren't electric!" A trembling, terrified voice came through the walkie-talkie.
"Why don't you take off your mat and wet it or take off your clothes to cover yourselves? If there's no water, just pee! As long as those things don't see you or burn you!"
"...If they dare to come any closer, just pull out your gun and shoot them. Don't tell Brother Sen you can't even hit them from three meters away..."
talking.
Brother Sen pulled out his gun, loaded it, opened the sun visors on both sides and pressed them against the windshield, then reached over the driver and pressed the electric switch on the hood.
buzz-
The hood quickly rose, blocking the view.
Soon, all that could be seen ahead was a narrow slit below.
With the front of the hood blocking the view, and the top of the sun visor also obstructing the view, the strange aircraft could only detect the situation inside the car from a narrow angle and distance above.

On the mountaintop.
Seeing that the people in the four cars on the screen had all taken cover, and that the drone's battery was slowly depleting, Huang Xinhua couldn't help but worry and asked, "Lin Dong, why didn't your dad's drone fire its tires just now?"
"Rubber has a high temperature tolerance, while drone batteries have limited power. The battery might run out before the tires burst."
Lin Dong briefly explained the strategy involved.
As the car moves, the tires are constantly rotating and being cooled by airflow, making it impossible for the laser to maintain a fixed point of cumulative firing.
This, coupled with the battery limitations of multi-rotor drones, means that common tactics like hitting tires are no longer viable.
However, seeing that the image recognition couldn't find anyone and the infrared sensor was interfered with by the engine's heat, the multi-axis drone could only keep hovering around the four cars, Lin Dong sighed slightly.
No wonder that in the wars that occurred in the world ten years later, multi-rotor drones were only used as bomb drones, focusing solely on cost-effectiveness and mutual destruction.
If this thing doesn't carry bombs, its combat limitations are too great; it's completely ineffective against targets with even a little protection.
To truly put this 1.0 swarm system into practical use, it must be equipped with explosive drones and undergo further training and learning.
Faced with the enemy cowering inside the vehicle and refusing to get out, the demolition drone can simply rush over and bomb them; it's hard to believe they'd dare not get out.
Ring ring—
Just then, Xu Ziming's phone rang. He took it out and his expression immediately brightened: "Engineer Wang, oh no, boss, hello."
"Yes, a group of armed men. We tried to contact you but couldn't get through... They're hiding in a car, so we can't attack with drones. We're waiting for the city police to arrive... Yes, it's a stalemate for now..."
