Chapter 108 Cafeteria Exchange
Chapter 108 Cafeteria Exchange
When I got back to the college, it was almost evening. I wanted to rest, but I had only taken one day off, so I didn't have much time to relax.
In fact, I didn't expect this dungeon to take so long, so this can be seen as a result of my lack of preparation.
Anyway, as soon as I got back to my room, I rested for a while to get rid of this nauseous feeling.
After that, I got up very early and started training to fill my free time.
Since I encounter a lot of hostility whenever someone is around, and they are clearly deliberately making things difficult for me, this is actually a good arrangement.
After all, most students go to sleep around 3 a.m.... especially those who have nothing to do but like to meddle in other people's affairs.
My training continued until I received a message from the History and Art Society.

Subject: Club Meeting
Because the college has postponed the courses, we have decided to hold the lecture meeting on a weekday this week.
The meeting is scheduled for 1 p.m. on Thursday.
If this time conflicts with other arrangements, please contact me. We will do our best to make adjustments.
President Maya

This message is very much in line with Maya's personality, and that's one of the reasons I respect her.
She was diligent and organized, ensuring the smooth running of the club's affairs, even though she was an oddball who liked to ramble on about snacks.
I simply replied that I could attend the meeting.
In the game, this meeting will not be canceled, and it is also one of the times when players begin to observe Sylvie's quest progress.
"Mason will try to improve her favorability."
Since the academy's attention is currently focused on the demon cultists, they cannot directly target Sylvie for the time being, so they will proceed with caution.
After that, I continued with my daily life.
"125."
boom!
As I jumped down from the rope, I looked at my sweat-drenched body.
I've been training my physical strength all day, and now I'm starting to feel tired.
After a quick shower, I headed towards the college cafeteria. My stomach was growling with hunger after the intense training.
As soon as I entered, I was greeted by the usual hustle and bustle of the students, but some things were different from usual.
I walked toward the food counter, ignoring the stares and whispers directed at me.
A group of students, who had been engrossed in their conversation, suddenly fell silent as I passed by. Their eyes were fixed on me, filled with curiosity and disdain.
“Isn’t that him?” I heard one of them whisper.
“Yeah, that’s the guy who supposedly raped a lot of women,” another responded, raising their voice without any hesitation.
By this time, this behavior had become quite natural. I was already prepared for it because someone was deliberately instigating it, even if second or third graders knew about it.
'Indeed, they have a lot of influence. Whoever this person is, they can influence older students.'
This means that person is likely also an older student.
After all, it is much easier for upperclassmen to influence freshmen than for freshmen to influence upperclassmen.
When I sat down to eat, I saw someone I knew.
Sylvie and her friends went into the cafeteria, chatting enthusiastically about topics that interested them.
The other two besides Sylvie are characters I'm familiar with from the game. One is Jasmine, who only wants the best for her friends.
But the other one is different.
"Daniel."
She is a two-faced person. Long before the academy even started, she had already made a pact with a demon.
Her past has been briefly mentioned, but it's easy to see that she harbors jealousy towards Sylvie. However, her jealousy isn't limited to Sylvie; she's jealous of girls with good figures and high talent.
She is also linked to events that are set to occur within the next two weeks.
The female student has gone missing.
She will be the main culprit in this incident, which also marks the beginning of countless demon-related events within the academy. As a result, the academy will begin conducting more thorough tests on demonic energy, thereby forcing demons to take more action.
......
As soon as the three men sat down, they began to talk.
Sylvie was the more innocent and introverted of her friends; she simply ate, while her friends enthusiastically discussed the latest romantic gossip at the academy.
“Have you heard of Professor Alaric and Professor Lorraine? I’m sure there’s some secret between them,” one of her friends said excitedly as she leaned closer.
Sylvie's eyes widened in surprise. "Really? I had no idea," she replied, though she actually had absolutely no interest in such gossip.
She doesn't like to constantly discuss other people's love lives.
“Absolutely! They were spotted together at the Red Phoenix Hotel last weekend, it must be a date!” another friend chimed in, excitedly sharing the news.
“Wow, I didn’t know that,” Sylvie replied, trying to keep up with the conversation.
“What about Thomas and Lily? I heard they had a huge fight in the library,” another friend added, clearly curious about the dramatic incident.
Danielle tilted her head, seemingly a little confused by the topic. "Thomas and Lily? I don't know anything about their problems."
As the conversation unfolded amidst the academy's romantic gossip, the topic naturally shifted to the recent dungeon events.
“Have you heard of Mark and Evelyn? I heard they got together after that dungeon incident,” Danielle said with a sly smile.
Sylvie remained silent throughout the gossip segment, but her face flushed slightly when the topic came up.
“I will protect you, Sylvie.”
She remembered how he protected her, a situation that repeated itself throughout the dungeon. She also remembered his words of encouragement.
"You can do it, I believe in you."
Her friends quickly noticed her shyness.
“Oh, oh,” Jasmine teased, giving Sylvie a gentle nudge. “Sylvie, is there something you haven’t told us?”
Sylvie stammered, trying to downplay the matter. "No...it's not like that. It was just...a challenging experience, nothing more."
Danielle joined in the teasing, her eyes gleaming with amusement. "Come on, Sylvie. Is it a challenging experience? Or romance born from the depths of danger?"
Sylvie patted Danielle's arm playfully, her cheeks now even redder. "Danielle, stop! It's not like that."
Her friends laughed, and the good-natured teasing created a relaxed and pleasant atmosphere.
"Is it Mason? You said he was on the same team as you and in the same club." She knew Sylvie usually wouldn't mention the names of men unless that person had caught her attention.
So she deliberately gave it a push, and the result was exactly as she expected.
Sylvie noticed her face flush even more and nervously replied, "No...it's not about Mason. Really."
Danielle leaned back, her smile widening. "Come on, you wouldn't just casually mention someone's name. Just tell me!"
Sylvie shook her head, and although she felt embarrassed, she couldn't help but laugh. "It's really not like that. I just... think we cooperated very well in the dungeon."
Jasmine chimed in, adding fuel to the fire of the banter. "You're working together very well, aren't you? I've never heard of that Mason guy. I'll go find out for you."
Just as Sylvie was about to respond, a familiar voice interrupted their conversation. "Are you talking about me?"
They turned around and saw a brown-haired boy with a friendly expression standing behind them, looking curious.
Sylvie's cheeks flushed even redder, a feeling of shame turning her face bright red. Seeing this, Danielle immediately realized who this person was.
'That must be Mason.'
She had been trying to pry open Sylvie's shell, and now she realized this might be an opportunity.
Danielle winked at Sylvie, a sly smile playing on her lips. "Oh, Sylvie was just sharing her thoughts on teamwork and dungeons."
Sylvie felt her face getting even hotter, but Mason just smiled and said, "Yeah, I understand. Teamwork is definitely important in the dungeon. I also really enjoy working with Sylvie."
Then he smiled at Sylvie and asked, "Would you mind if I joined you?"
Danielle, with a mischievous glint in her eyes, exaggeratedly pointed to an empty chair. "Of course, Mr. 'Knight,' please have a seat."
Despite feeling embarrassed, Sylvie managed a shy smile. "Um, please have a seat."
Mason pulled out a chair and sat down, leaning back casually. "Thanks. It's really boring sitting alone," he said, glancing briefly at the boys at the table behind him, who nodded in agreement.
Just as Sylvie was sitting comfortably, she suddenly felt someone looking at her from the side.
'Um? '
She turned her head and met Morse's gaze.
Because of her characteristics, she can see.
The hostility emanating from him was so intense that she could almost see it as hatred.
The moment she made eye contact with Morse, he immediately looked away, but even so, that reaction seemed absurd to her.
'What's wrong?'
She asked herself. This was the first time he had shown such emotion, and Sylvie knew these emotions were unusual.
'Why?'
She thought to herself.
Who are these emotions directed at?
Just as she was pondering this question, Jasmine suddenly spoke up.
She followed Sylvie's gaze and noticed Morse, who was looking in their direction.
She frowned, a sense of unease creeping in. Morse was known for his bad behavior and strange rumors, and she disliked his attitude at all.
"What's wrong with him?" Jasmine whispered, glancing at Morse with suspicion.
“I don’t know.” Sylvie didn’t want to talk about him here. After all, she still remembered their conversation and the awful week that followed.
However, Jasmine didn't want to stop there. "Maybe he likes you. Didn't he argue with you back then? Maybe he's trying to get your attention."
Sylvie's eyes widened, and her face turned even redder. "Don't talk nonsense!"
She could tell from her own characteristics that Morse didn't think that way about her.
Jasmine crossed her arms and looked at her warily. "It's hard to imagine what someone like him would do, and you're very beautiful."
Hearing her words, Sylvie recalled the past and the colors and emotions he had displayed. That wasn't love; his feelings had been twisted from the start.
She knew the emotions behind his different reactions, but her friend's explanation seemed to make sense.
No, that can't be.
She wanted to dismiss the idea, but ultimately, a seed of doubt had been planted in her heart...
