Chapter 220 World Destruction
Chapter 220 World Destruction
At the Anti-Entropy headquarters, after a brief moment of anger, Bio read through a mountain of analytical documents and citizen requests for help on the table he had requisitioned from Yang Shijie.
However, these reports had been read over and over again by him, Yang Shijie, and other scientists who could still be contacted, but the judgments in them were largely the same.
The world is going to end.
Nothing contradicted this simple fact: the still-functioning surveillance systems reported new monsters constantly entering the Nameless City. These quantum shadows, which they could only banish, not destroy, were eroding their world, and at an ever-increasing pace. Any manpower they sent could only slow the invasion—their people would tire, but the quantum shadows would not.
Bio tried to list ways to salvage the current situation: including but not limited to mending the sky, guiding the quantum shadow away from the nameless city, and building a large number of aircraft that could accommodate human survival for a long time... But he soon discovered that these methods were all castles in the air and illusions, either lacking technical verification or simply too late.
At the current rate of erosion, the small city of Weiming could become a monster's paradise in just two hours—a task that is utterly impossible to accomplish within two hours: holding off the monsters, sealing the breaches, and then annihilating them all to save the citizens. All he can do is send out false hope, giving those who receive it a sliver of hope to survive.
Bio abandoned his plan to discuss how to save the world with Yang Shijie. He now only wanted to be with Ailian, not Yang Shijie, but that was wishful thinking. He couldn't even leave Anti-Entropy to contact Destiny, because as an experimental site, the density of quantum shadows around Anti-Entropy was the highest.
Outside the window, screams of people and roars of monsters echoed from the nameless city under the cover of night. Unaware that their fate was sealed, the Anti-Entropy personnel continued to evacuate the people who had come to seek refuge into the building.
But is this building really that sturdy? Faced with those monsters that are several stories high, the building could be crushed to dust at any moment by monsters that appear out of nowhere.
Suddenly, a violent tremor occurred, the building's windows shattered, and Bio fell to the ground.
What's going on? Has the earthquake intensified?
He scrambled to his feet and looked out the window. Several enormous quantum shadows were ramming the building with their thick forelimbs. The screams of those already inside the Anti-Entropy Shelter grew even sharper, as if this were not a human refuge but a slaughterhouse for monsters.
The monster crashed into the building again, and Bio fell down again. This time, he seemed to have hit his head. After standing up, he actually saw Ottovira and Trilily? And behind them was the sacred and inviolable Ellen Kaslana.
"Ellen, I love you."

Human strength has its limits.
Even with all his might, and even as he honed his skills by using the ever-flowing quantum shadows to hone the power and angle of his hat throw, Qiong was still unable to eliminate or mock all the quantum shadows.
For a moment, Qiong felt like he was playing Plants vs. Zombies in endless mode, with endless quantum shadows draining his limited physical strength and energy from his skull. Even though Hei Xi couldn't bear to watch anymore after fighting for who knows how long, she still couldn't help him. It was just a drop in the ocean...
The blood-red sun disappeared below the horizon, but this wasn't the arrival of night; rather, the sun of the Nameless City had gone out—the buildings floating in mid-air and the increasing weightlessness they felt proved it. The rules of the Nameless City were on the verge of collapse, and the invading Quantum Shadows had appeared in places beyond the reach of Qiong and Seele…
Without a doubt, he failed. The sun went out, and no artificial light came on. In the pitch black, the only remaining light was the blazing lance that Qiong wielded.
Weiming City was destroyed.
"Brother Qiong..."
The attack frequency of the Quantum Shadows decreased sharply, perhaps because they thought there was nothing left to destroy here? But the highly vigilant Qiong did not respond, whether it was Black hope or White hope, she just held tightly to her free hand.
The girl didn't speak again, and only the sound of their breathing remained.
After waiting for a while, Qiong put away her top hat, leaving only the Flame Spear to light the way ahead.
"Seele, do you think I'm really useless?"
"No, that's not how it is!"
If it were a normal Qiong, she would probably recognize that the person who looked like a frightened little white rabbit was Bai hope, but Qiong was no longer interested in any of that now.
If he were powerful enough to truly break the rules, if he possessed the Captain's ability to "map consciousness," if he could contain the world bubble within himself like the Silly Goose, if he could traverse the Sea of Quanta like Seele, even if he didn't save the world or defy fate, wouldn't he at least be able to save a few people?
But he didn't, because he wasn't capable enough; he was too weak.
Bai hope didn't know how to comfort people. After joining this battle that was known to be a losing proposition, Hei Xi, who had chosen to help and then disappear, didn't show up. For a moment, the two of them chose to remain silent, leaving only a deathly stillness.
Hector knew that the kingdom would eventually fall, and Achilles understood that he was heading towards death.
"Who, who is there?"
Suddenly, a voice very similar to Qiong's appeared in the distance, and a point of light appeared in the direction from which the voice came.
"But the two of them still went to the battlefield without hesitation."
Just as Qiong was feeling regretful and sad, she suddenly heard a white-haired man with a voice that sounded very similar to her own, reciting the names of heroes from the Trojan War in Homer's epic poems, slowly approaching.
"They are like that, and so are we. Like moths drawn to their own destruction... Danheng, you have made the same choice as us."
"Oh, is that Brother Bai E?"
Seele stared in shock at the man before her who bore an uncanny resemblance to Qiong.
"Kevin? What are you doing here?!"
Seele sensed that Qiong seemed particularly surprised, and gripped her hand even tighter.
"That bubble world was something you created to mess with me; everything inside it was fake, right?!"
However, Kevin did not agree as Qiong had hoped, but instead shook his head.
"It's a pity, Danheng, that everything in that world was real. But the fact that this girl came to your side is indeed related to me."
"Did you help me?"
Seele looked at Kevin in disbelief. If this man had such great abilities, why didn't he help Qiong save that world?
“I can see that you want to save them, but you can’t change the world on your own.”
"Kevin, where's my Uncle Yang?!"
Qiong, still seething with anger, didn't follow Kevin's lead and instead brought up Walter, whose whereabouts were unknown.
He pried Seele's hands off, picked up the baseball bat and flamethrower, and put on his top hat.
Although he knew he couldn't blame Kevin for his own incompetence, that didn't stop him from venting his emotions to someone.
"But you, she, and that Herrscher of Reason all have great potential. Join World Serpent! Serpent needs you. Walk with Serpent, and Serpent will give you the power you need!"
"Where is my Uncle Yang?!"
Completely confused, Seele felt that Kevin wasn't a bad person (would a bad person help her see Sora?), but Sora was extremely angry with Kevin now, as if she had encountered an enemy.

I feel the next version will be extremely boring and tedious, full of angst. I suggest everyone quit the game for now after version 3.2 and come back to play later...
Alas, the war of Honkai Impact 3rd has finally reached Honkai Iron.
Also... keep urging me! I was planning to write more about how my destiny and time were going against each other... Everyone's urging me? Fine, fine, some of my friends are even sending me private messages to scold me...
I'll change it! Fine, I'll change it! Just destroy the world bubble and then repair it (if it goes underwater again later). Otherwise, no matter how much I suppress it, I can't fully express what I want to write. Let's move it to the later stages, to the original world, okay? (Pain Mask)
