Chapter 174 Don't Leave Scars
Chapter 174 Don't Leave Scars
"You're overthinking it. Right now, let's focus on treating your injuries. The props that fell down earlier were full of wood chips and nails, which could easily cause infection," Zhou Yanruo said with a worried expression.
At this moment, Shang Yibo's left foot began to ache slightly after he got into the car. He quietly pressed the injured area with his hand, and a sharp pain instantly struck. In the darkness, he could not see the extent of the injury, so he could only try to adjust his sitting posture to find a slightly more comfortable position.
Sitting behind Shang Yibo, Zhou Yanruo noticed that he was moving his body carefully, clearly enduring the pain, and she became even more worried.
“Yibo is an artist, so his image is very important. It’s not aesthetically pleasing to have such a big scar on his arm. Jiajia’s concerns are not unreasonable.” After saying that, Hong Yun seemed to remember something and turned to Zhou Yanruo, suggesting, “I remember the doctor said that he has a junior who is a surgeon at Zhongya Hospital. Why don’t we contact him and ask his junior for help?”
Ding Jiajia, "You mean Zhongya Hospital? The one with the best plastic surgery in the country? They have a dedicated cosmetic surgery department. If they treat the wound, won't it prevent scarring?"
Hong Yun nodded, "That's what I was thinking too. With the skills of plastic surgeons, stitches shouldn't leave scars, and even if they do, they'll look better than regular scars."
"There are scars that look better? Well, that's a good idea. Zhongya Hospital is a top-tier hospital, and it seems to be not far from here, near the Fourth Ring Road." Zhou Yanruo agreed upon hearing this. "How come I didn't know Zihang had such a junior who was a surgeon?"
Hong Yun said, "That's not important. I'll contact the professor now and ask about the situation."
Hearing the women talking around him, Shang Yibo felt annoyed and coughed twice, saying in a low voice, "You're all too noisy. Can't you be quiet for a while?"
Upon hearing this, Ding Jiajia shrugged and silently turned back.
Hong Yun took out her phone and glared at Shang Yibo, "It's all because of you, and you're the one who's getting impatient."
Zhou Yanruo then said to Shang Yibo, "Close your eyes and rest for a while. We'll contact a doctor. Finding a good doctor is very important."
Hong Yun had already taken out her phone, her fingers flying across the screen as she typed a message. A moment later, she put down her phone, a relieved smile on her face: "The message's been sent. Hehe, the PhD student replied instantly, saying he'd contact his junior sister right away; we should get a reply soon."
Everyone waited quietly for news, and the car fell silent for a moment.
Zhou Yanruo's phone rang unexpectedly. She glanced at the screen and said softly, "It's Zihang calling." Then she swiped to answer, "Zihang."
On the other end of the phone, Zhou Zihang's voice came through clearly, "Ruo Ruo, I've already contacted Hua Xiaomei. She's on duty at the hospital tonight. Just go directly to the new building of Zhongya Hospital; she'll be waiting for you there."
Because the carriage was quiet, everyone inside could hear the conversation on the phone clearly.
Zhou Yanruo replied, "Thanks, we're heading that way now, and we should be there in about thirty minutes."
Zhou Zihang: "I'll go to the hospital to meet up with you."
Zhou Yanruo: "It's late, you don't need to come all this way."
Zhou Zihang insisted, "I'll bring some food with me. I guess you haven't had a chance to eat yet. That's all, I'm already heading out. See you later."
Hong Yun shouted into the phone, "Dr. Zhou, don't forget the sweet and sour pork ribs you made tonight! Bring them over, I haven't had enough yet, I'm starving!" Zhou Yanruo confirmed on the other end of the phone, "Did you hear me?"
Zhou Zihang's voice was noticeably softer. He mumbled "I know" and then quickly hung up the phone.
It was nearly 11 o'clock, and their car sped along the suburban highway outside the Fourth Ring Road. Traffic was light at this time, and they arrived at Zhongya Hospital a few minutes ahead of schedule. The driver skillfully parked the car in the drop-off area in front of the hospital's main entrance. Ding Jiajia was the first to jump out of the car, followed closely by Hong Yun and Zhou Yanruo, who quickly got out as well.
Zhou Yanruo walked around to the other side of the van, gently opened the door, and tenderly patted Shang Yibo's shoulder. "Shang Yibo, wake up. We're at the hospital. Can you walk by yourself?"
Shang Yibo had dozed off on the way. When he was woken up, his eyes were slightly dazed. "Oh? We're at the hospital. I can walk now."
After speaking, he stepped out of the car, ready to get off, when a sudden, sharp pain made him involuntarily hiss and gasp. His leg instantly lost its strength and he couldn't lift it, so he plopped back down on the car seat.
Seeing this, Zhou Yanruo quickly reached out to help him, but seeing his face contorted in pain, and worried about touching other possible wounds, her hand stopped in mid-air. "Where does it hurt the most? Are you injured somewhere else?"
Shang Yibo looked down at his left foot, his voice tinged with weakness, "I think I sprained my ankle."
Zhou Yanruo looked in the direction he was pointing and saw that Shang Yibo's left foot was swollen abnormally. Fortunately, he was still wearing the cloth shoes he wore when filming. The instep was so swollen that it was stretched high, and the swelling at the ankle was almost as thick as his calf.
"How did it get so swollen? It must hurt a lot." Zhou Yanruo felt a pang in her heart. She squatted down and reached out to help Shang Yibo take off his shoes. "Let me take your shoes off for you. It will hurt more if they are tied like this."
Shang Yibo awkwardly pulled his foot back, only to be met with another sharp pain. He immediately became still and stopped moving around.
Ding Jiajia came over. "Is your foot injured? Why is it so swollen?"
Just then, a young female doctor walked over. She was wearing a neat white coat with a black down vest over it. Her hands were casually in the pockets of the vest, making her look both relaxed and approachable.
Hong Yun took the initiative to go over and greet her, "You're a PhD student, oh, are you Zhou Zihang's junior?"
Hua Xiaomei smiled and replied, "You must be Zihang's friends. He told me about your situation. My surname is Hua. Please come with me."
Zhou Yanruo: "Dr. Hua, Shang Yibo sprained his ankle and can't walk by himself. Do you have a stretcher? Let's carry him inside together."
Hua Xiaomei laughed and said, "Use a stretcher? That's too much of an exaggeration. Who will come in with me first and bring a wheelchair over?"
Ding Jiajia offered, "I'll go with Dr. Hua to push the wheelchair. You guys wait here for a bit."
Hong Yun: "I'll go with you."
Hua Xiaomei turned and walked towards the hospital. "Go to the front desk and rent a wheelchair first. You may need to pay a deposit."
Hong Yun: "No problem."
"Come with me." Flower Girl stepped into the hospital.
Ding Jiajia and Hong Yun followed behind her.
